Bank holiday Monday - pre-match drink before going off to Craven Cottage. Very busy, and just the two (owners?) serving. Something odd happening here, I’ve read reports of crowd funding going sour and Google maps has it marked incorrectly as closed. Other beers on but too crowded to see them.

Slybeast - Putney Porter4.40AcceptableSpecial offer at £4.50 a pint.

Afternoon visit with a group of friends. Card payments only at the moment, we were told that the normal cash payment method will resume from Monday. Card payments only ruined the chance to all contribute to a "kitty" so we opted to join small rounds. The pub became quite busy as the afternoon progressed.

Pre-match tipple. New owners since I was last here and they have extended the real ale to an impressive 11 hand pumps (2 not noted). Very pleasant (and Fulham won 6-2 so rather a good day all round).

Early doors about 1130 - pretty much packed with well behaved Fulham fans (unlike the raucous cacophony coming from the away fans in the nearby Duke). A full set of seven Timothy Taylor ales on the pumps.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Timothy Taylor - Landlord Dark (was Ram Tam)4.30GoodA very pleasant dark, winter ale.

Lunchtime - very few in considering it was match day at the Cottage. Nice chat with an elderly local. Filled up a bit by 2. No discount for CAMRA members despite their "pub of the year" awards form previous years boldly displayed outside.

Here at around 7pm to find the pub very quiet. There was a problem with a lack of change behind the bar. Fortunately I was able to count out my pennies, but a couple of other potential customers left thirsty for lack of change for a twenty pound note.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Twickenham (also uses sub-brand Old Hands) - Grandstand Bitter3.80GoodAmber-coloured and quite full-bodied.
Twickenham (also uses sub-brand Old Hands) - Naked Ladies4.40GoodGolden and fragrant. Slightly warm temperature took an edge off the flavour.

Early evening - prior to a Fulham game - busy, good atmosphere not spoiled by anyone eating - a real boozer - but London prices all the same.

Lunchtime visit and there are only four other customers in. I chatted about rain and floods with one of the regulars at the bar.

One of the periodic beer festivals is underway here, this time featuring Wiltshire-brewed beers. It is unexpectedly quiet for a beer festival and my group are able to secure a table in a prime spot inside. 40+ beers available, I list just those I drank.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Plain Ales - India Plain Ale 5.20ExcellentGolden and hoppy. The stand-out beer of the evening for me.
World's End - Pewsey Mild 4.80ExcellentVery nice, smooth, dark, chocolaty mild.
Shed Ales - Shed Some Light3.80GoodGolden and spicily hopped.
Stealth (formerly Kennet & Avon) - Dundas Best Bitter4.20GoodI understand that K&A beers are currently cuckoo-brewed at Wessex Brewery. This was an amber-coloured bitter.
Weighbridge - Pooley's Golden4.70GoodAnother golden beer.
Downton - Raspberry Ripper4.50AcceptableA rather unsubtle fruit beer. Not just raspberry, but cherry too, resulting in a mix of sweet and tart flavours. The advertised ‘delicate hop bitterness’ seemed a bit lost to me.

The pub is found in Putney, Greater London, SW15 1DD.

Traditional single-roomed pub tucked away near to Putney Bridge in Waterman Street. At one time was the only pub in London to serve the full Timothy Taylor cask range. SW London CAMRA Pub of the Year 2008. Regular beer festivals and events. Has 12 handpumps on the bar, offering an ever-changing range of amazing beers from small breweries around the UK. Policy is to buy in the whole range of a particular brewer every week, one that is not normally showcased in London, so it can offer Londoners a real choice. The aim is to have a sort of rolling beer festival.

We have visited this pub 20 times, seen 117 different beers and tried 100 of them.
