Tasting Summary
These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

| Hogan Sampling | | 21 Feb 2026 | This dark coloured Sussex Porter came with a handsome head and lacing impressively lasting to the very end. A smoky malty first bite. Hints of spice rising in its prevailing bitterness and most likely from the Challenger, a versatile UK hop known for providing a clean bitterness and spicy, cedar-like aromas, as well British hop, Progress, used to balance the bitterness and offer subtle herbal, grassy notes. A maltiness winning over with hints of dark fruits and chocolate to my taste buds with cocoa and coffee also in on the mix from just so-named malts along with a roasted malt to my taste buds. A malty bitterness climbing down from its memories of manning the air raid siren on the roof in its finale. This porter was presented in the finest of form and did not disappoint. *Three Acre Brewery, founded in 2018, near Uckfield in East Sussex, is described as an award-winning craft brewery based on a working farm in the Sussex countryside. |
