Busy in the front outside seated area. Not so busy on the inside for early afternoon visit. Immediate welcoming service as on earlier visits. Seem to time it just right.
Viper (Mighty Oak) - Jake the Snake | 4.00 | | Good head also and subtle floral flavours in this slightly malty pale. |
Mighty Oak - Gorgeous George | 4.20 | | Good head on this bitter. Slightly fruity with a fine bitter aftertaste. |
Mighty Oak - Oscar Wilde Mild | 3.70 | Not Tried
Mighty Oak - Kings (was 3.9% before 2013) | 4.20 | Not Tried

Friday afternoon and fairly busy. There was a tempting selection of filled rolls on the bar. Unfortunately I had left my pen at home and did not note all the beers on offer.
Wantsum - More's Head (previously 3.4% & 3.5%) | 3.70
13 Mar 2018 (Magnus Greel)
Early lunchtime with a few customers popping in during our visit including to stock up on the generously filled rolls thus stock quickly dwindled.
Earl Soham - Victoria Bitter | 3.60
Crouch Vale - Astra | 4.10 | | Delicious, by far the best here, IMO. Hoppy spicy kick thanks to the blend of Mosaic and Citra hops. Would have been a 5* if it wasn't over carbonated. |
Mighty Oak - Heart Of Gold | 4.30 | | Superb condition although lacking flavour considering its ABV |
Brecon - Daffodil | 4.00 | | A taster alas yet another bland flavourless beer |
Cliff Quay - Roaring Forties | 4.00 | Not Tried
Mighty Oak - The Joy of Six | 3.90 | Not Tried
12 Nov 2016 (Magnus Greel)
We were the first customers on this wet Saturday morning, welcoming with the appeal of the quaint location tucked away in an antiques centre! Ham and cheese rolls were being stacked up on the bar during our visit, at a reasonable £1.50 each.
Bishop Nick - Ridley's Rite | 3.60 | | First beer of the day and in excellent condition. |
Mighty Oak - Taming of the Brew | 4.00
Altarnum (formerly Penpont) - Creation | 4.20 | Not Tried

Soon after 11:00 opening time and the person serving seemed to be delighted that the first customers of the day were ordering beer instead of coffee. A wet and miserable day probably led to the antiques centre being quieter than usual for a Saturday.
Bishop Nick - Ridley's Rite | 3.60 | | In superb condition and a good session bitter ale with which to start the day's pub tour. |
Altarnum (formerly Penpont) - Creation | 4.20 | Not Tried
Mighty Oak - Taming of the Brew | 4.00 | Not Tried
