Busy in the front outside seated area. Not so busy on the inside for early afternoon visit. Immediate welcoming service as on earlier visits. Seem to time it just right.
BeerABVScoreNotes

Friday afternoon and fairly busy. There was a tempting selection of filled rolls on the bar. Unfortunately I had left my pen at home and did not note all the beers on offer.

Early lunchtime with a few customers popping in during our visit including to stock up on the generously filled rolls thus stock quickly dwindled.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Earl Soham - Victoria Bitter3.60Excellent
Crouch Vale - Astra4.10ExcellentDelicious, by far the best here, IMO. Hoppy spicy kick thanks to the blend of Mosaic and Citra hops. Would have been a 5* if it wasn't over carbonated.
Mighty Oak - Heart Of Gold4.30ExcellentSuperb condition although lacking flavour considering its ABV
Brecon - Daffodil4.00ExcellentA taster alas yet another bland flavourless beer
Cliff Quay - Roaring Forties4.00Not Tried
Mighty Oak - The Joy of Six3.90Not Tried

We were the first customers on this wet Saturday morning, welcoming with the appeal of the quaint location tucked away in an antiques centre! Ham and cheese rolls were being stacked up on the bar during our visit, at a reasonable £1.50 each.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Bishop Nick - Ridley's Rite3.60ExcellentFirst beer of the day and in excellent condition.
Mighty Oak - Taming of the Brew4.00Excellent
Altarnum (formerly Penpont) - Creation4.20Not Tried

Soon after 11:00 opening time and the person serving seemed to be delighted that the first customers of the day were ordering beer instead of coffee. A wet and miserable day probably led to the antiques centre being quieter than usual for a Saturday.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Bishop Nick - Ridley's Rite3.60ExcellentIn superb condition and a good session bitter ale with which to start the day's pub tour.
