Was told it was shut by someone out side, but the landlord came out and told me to come in as long as I was quick as they were closing at 4pm to set up for a big function.

Popped in for a quick one on the way home from work with colleagues, a nice surprise to find the current owners first beer festival. Ales in great condition & very friendly staff.

Fabulous Ploughmans. Best I have had in many a year. Worth it just for that. But the beer is of an equally high standard

I have been to this pub several times over the last nine years. The recent transformation, not only in the decoration but also the staff augurs very well indeed for the future. There was an excellent crowd including a mild ale drinking society who had come by vintage coach. Lovely bunch of people, great warm and friendly atmosphere and a fantastic beer or two. The food was very good and modestly priced. It is great to see a pub being resurrected ! Well done to the Landlady , Maria !

This was bright and slightly citrus flavoured. Good hop[s and a some light malts. £2.60 a pint !!! It was like being back in the 90-s ! |

I spoke to one of the regulars and he told me that this was the only beer that the new management had kept on following protests from the regulars when it was dropped.
