Came early enough on the Saturday for there still to be some good beers left
BeerABVScoreNotes
Goacher's - 1066 Old Ale6.70ExceptionalLovely, 6.7%, but no real hint of that in the glass. Smooth and herby.
Stonehenge - Rudolph5.00ExceptionalSuperb, smooth, warming, lots of dark fruits.
Hopdaemon - Leviathan6.00ExcellentWent for this first as this is one of my favourites. I think it may have been starting to run out, but it was great. Red fruit, syrup and lots of citrus.
Hambleton - Nightmare Porter5.00ExcellentAnother great pint (or half in my case), full of fresh flavour.
Highgate - Old Ale5.30GoodDark, ruby brew. Seemed excellent to begin with, but took a while to drink.
Dent - T'Owd Tup6.00AcceptablePretty fierce brew, a bit harsh in the aftertaste but OK.
Whitstable - Smack Ale5.50PoorBy the time I got to this it was definitely on its way out. Full of cinnamon spice, but was like a christmas pudding the first week in January.

Very good beer line up this year. My 7th year at this event, but it seemed that the numbers had been slightly restricted. The halls didn't appear to be as packed. No music on the Friday. I was the first in the queue for the new earlier opening time of 3pm, and I have ticket No. 1 to prove it.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Hopdaemon - Dominator5.10ExceptionalBeer of the festival for me. Deep brown with lasting beige head. Lovely hop on this with good malt base. Hops are excellent and fresh
Robinsons - Old Tom8.50ExcellentVery dark ruby, with beige head. Nice attractive boiled sweet aroma. Quite hoppy. Yep, it’s quite sweet but it’s pretty good. The hop can be quite severe. Good dark rich beer, slightlly hoppier than bottle version
Harvey's - Christmas Ale8.10ExcellentDark reddish brown with beige head. Really quite pleasant if slightly sticky sweet, quite a meaty aroma with lots of orange. Nice dry hop finish and some boiled sweet. Better on the second half pint
Fernandes - Empress of India6.00ExcellentGolden beige bubbly head. Citrus hoppy aroma, lemon, grapefruit. Quite pleasant in mouth. Quite a good take on an American style IPA. Sweetness balances the hops well
Grainstore - Winter Nip7.30ExcellentChestnut colour with white head. Slightly vinous aroma. Good winter ale. Imagine curling up with this in front of a fire. Christmas cakey. Really vinous and enjoyable
Tring - Death or Glory7.20GoodDeep chestnut, bubbly beige head. Quite a strong syrupy aroma, syrupy in mouth. Very malty, some good hops too. Some niceish sweet malt
Mordue - IPA5.10GoodGolden with white head. Grassy, hay, good hoppy beer. Quite nice hop with drying hop citrus finish.
Hanlons (formerly O'Hanlon's) - Royal Oak5.00Good Deep copper, thin beige head. Nice hoppy aroma. Good malt body, fruit is quite nice. Another good beer from OHanlons
