Beers as already listed by Magnus. A lunchtime visit with a couple of gentlemen playing chess plus a couple of cyclists. The background music being played was Arlo Guthrie's full version of Alice's Restaurant.
Burning Sky - Plateau (was 3.5%) | 3.40

Lunchtime quiet just couple of other chaps playing chess and a couple of cyclists arrived as we did. Pleasant 70's background music at a low volume made for a relaxing atmosphere.
Burning Sky - Plateau (was 3.5%) | 3.40 | | Served ice cold otherwise a 4* marking would've applied |
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | Not Tried
Harvey's - Old Ale (or Sussex XXXX Old Ale) | 4.30 | Not Tried
21 Mar 2018 (Mitch)
Fairly busy for a Wednesday. Nice atmosphere with local bar drinkers and foodies too. Harveys, Burning Sky and a number from Gun Brewery. Gun IPA was well kept, not quite a full pint but almost! Food excellent again.
Gun - Zamzama IPA | 6.50 | | As per, quite a citrus taste but well kept and drinkable
ABV not right, I could not see the clip! |

28 Dec 2013 (Stephen Harris)
Early evening and the pub is thronged, contrary to my expectation given its location at the edge of town. Doing a good food trade.
Burning Sky - Plateau (was 3.5%) | 3.40 | | Unsurprisingly, this brewery is quickly forging a good reputation. This beer is pale gold, crisp and very hoppy. |
Downlands (formerly South Downs) - Pyecombe All Ye Faithful | 7.40 | | Near black. Very strong and warming. Vinous, port wine flavours. |
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | Not Tried
Harvey's - Old Ale (or Sussex XXXX Old Ale) | 4.30 | Not Tried
Dark Star - Critical Mass | 7.80 | Not Tried
Harvey's - Christmas Ale | 7.50 | Not Tried
12 Feb 2013 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening. In my mind's eye I had expected a street corner boozer but it was quite patrician and sit-down with a clear food emphasis and quite pricey. The staff were very friendly and helpful I must say though.
Downlands (formerly South Downs) - Ruskin's Ram | 4.00 | | First out of cask. Quite dark brown best bitter. Clip still showed this as South Downs Brewery before re-branding at new brewery site |
Dark Star - American Pale Ale (some has also been brewed by Fuller's) | 4.70 | Not Tried
Crouch Vale - Anchor Street Porter | 4.90 | Not Tried
Crouch Vale - Snowdrop | 4.20 | Not Tried
Dark Star - Sussex Extra Stout | 4.50 | Not Tried
Beachy Head - Legless Rambler | 5.00 | Not Tried
15 Jun 2012 (Martin the Mildman)
Quick visit here after Lewes Beer Festival, which seemed to be a popular choice for many.
1648 - Bee-Head | 4.60 | | Little evidence of honey in this amber brew, fairly dry and bitter with a dry hop finish. My score 14/20. |
