Early to mid evening, friendly welcome and busy but space available so we nabbed a bench by the entrance. Sadly no cask Breakwater beers today just a couple of keg options to choose from. The Pizzas were selling well so we ordered one between the three of us and enjoyed it so much we had to have another one a bit later. Perfect beer fodder!

We had a most enjoyable couple of hours spent here on a late Friday afternoon to early evening, in stark contrast to the previous pub this place was heaving possibly due to a birthday party in full swing. We managed to procure a vacant table reserved from 19.15 which suited as we'd a table booked in El Rustico's for then however the pizzas looked delicious and were proving a popular fare amongst folk. Been on my 'to do list' far too long and was most impressed.

Lunchtime - arranged to open early for our group of 9. Excellent choice of good ales and they fired up the pizza oven for us as well. As well as 8 cask ales on there was a choice of 9 Breakwater keg beers, 3 more guest beers and 9 ciders.

The pub is found in Dover, Kent, CT16 2AA.

Taproom attached to the Breakwater Brewery in St Martin's Yard, Lorne Road which opened in December 2016. Serves cask ales and keg beers from its own brewery as well as from across the country, ciders too. Cask ales and real ciders are sold on gravity dispense from a temperature controlled cellar room. Comfortably furnished with chunky furniture and well lit. No food on offer but customers are welcome to bring their own food or take-away and plates and cutlery are then willingly supplied. There are 11 keg taps on the bar back. The upright of the bar counter resembles a stone breakwater, a nice touch. Has a policy of charging more than the pro-rata price for a half or two-thirds of a pint.

We have visited this pub 17 times, seen 43 different beers and tried 31 of them.
