13:00 visit. Having been to a classic car show in nearby Aylesford, we brought the old girl' here. A good mixed crowd of hikers, greenlaners, horse riders and diners. And the 3 cheese ploughmans lunch was nice, and very good value too.

Arrived here at 1500 after cycling from the County Town, uphill all the way, via the Old Chatham Road, but I knew the effort would be worth it! The annual summer beer & music festival was in full swing, a good crowd, a Hog Roast on the go, a Rock & Roll band on and over 30 ales in the big marquee. Nearly all ales were from Kent brewers, which is always good to see. And all this for only a £3 entrance charge plus a souvenir pint glass. A nice afternoon out.

Decided to check out the entry deal having been very annoyed last year, only to find again you must buy a glass (non-returnable) and the starter pack (for 10 halfs) costs £20.....silly, no good for drivers wanting to have a quick couple !...although I was on foot I left in disgust at being expected to pay equivalent of £4/pint rediculous !

Afternoon visit after 6 mile hike - Thanks to Al for listing all the beers which at £3-20 weren't cheap ignoring the extra costs for lanyard and glass !

First visit and well worth the hike! (Bus 155 to Burham (Windmill Inn) then 12 minutes up an incredibly steep bridleway and there it is). Management here look to have spent a lot of money on this beer fest, there second, with a large marquee, well laid out stillage and bar, pa system and a large screen for the footy. Hog roast and extra toilets and an extensive garden area. A very pleasant pub, with 3 regular handpumps inside and 24 ales and 6 ciders on for the b/f. A great afternoon had by all...
