Lunchtime cycle meet. 11 of us outside in the sunshine. A big do going on inside.
£5 a pint here now unfortunately.
Hogs Back - Tongham TEA (previously T.E.A.) | 4.20 | | A fine pint of TEA |
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried

Lunchtime cycle meet - back door open before noon. Strange goings on with the London Pride. Good, traditional pub but could be more adventurous with their ales.
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Top condition. |
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | | A new barrel on just after opening time. It was the best Pride I’d had in a long while - but the guvnor told the barman to take it off as he said it was too lively! |

Sunday lunch, just after noon. Extremely busy. 5 cyclist/drinkers were allowed a table for an hour and then had to move on.
Greene King - Morland Old Speckled Hen | 4.50 | | How do they ales like this so ordinary now? |
Marston's - Courage Best Bitter (was brewed at Banks's for a while) | 4.00 | Not Tried

Xmas Eve lunchtime ride. Very festive - all the staff dressed up in Christmassy stuff.
St Austell - Secret Santa | 4.30 | | Best festive ale I’ve had this year. Went down well with the others. |
Adnams - Southwold Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried

Lunchtime cycle meet. We sat outside in the sunshine! Then in the function room as the pub was pretty full.
Marston's - Pedigree | 4.50
Woodforde's - Wherry | 3.80 | | A rare sighting in East Kent of this brew. |

Early afternoon- here for the beer, cider and music festival - on all over the Easter weekend. Beers in the stable block - reasonable choice for a pub with limited offerings normally. Pleasantly busy in the sunshine.
Mad Cat - Jester | 4.00 | | Super pale ale in top condition. |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 5 | 4.40
Kent - Prohibition | 4.80 | | Not quite the wow factor I was expecting. |
Theakston - XB (was 4.6%) | 4.50 | | Good flavour but totally flat. |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 3 | 5.00 | Not Tried
Tring - Side Pocket for a Toad | 3.60 | Not Tried
Timothy Taylor - Landlord Dark (was Ram Tam) | 4.30 | Not Tried

Cycle meet, Sunday lunchtime. Seven of us enjoyed it, seems like a good community pub. Shame about the lack of choice on ales - just the TT Landlord on today.
Timothy Taylor - Landlord | 4.30 | | Well kept, top condition. |

My first new pub for over 6 months.
Large outside area with good shelter. For what I could see of the pub it looked like a traditional village local.
Black Sheep - Best Bitter | 3.80
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | Not Tried

Got there about lunch time and went into the comfy saloon bar which was empty. The public bar seemed busy with locals. The barman was friendly.
Black Sheep - Best Bitter | 3.80 | | Loverly sweet bitter tasting copper coloured beer with a long satisfying bitter finish (I could write for a beer magazine you know) |
Greene King - IPA (was 3.6%) | 3.40 | Not Tried | Lets have a competition to see if we can find a pub that doesn't have this on |
