Very quiet evening here. Evening visit until 11pm close. Interesting how some lives turn out - enthralling customer life story of a father swimming last 7 miles to Blighty after Dunkirk and a daughter living in US with 3 children and 6 adopted.

Evening visit until 11pm close. A classic local boozer in suburbia - the locals are indeed lucky to have it.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Bexley - Bexley's Own Beer (BOB)4.20Good
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00PoorOh dear. No off flavours but got worse with every sip. A most unusual woody sourness that meant it was not right but was not off

Early to mid evening busy but a much more civilised atmosphere compared to the last pub. Been on my 'to do' list far too long and pleased I've finally got round to it, would visit again.

Evening visit until 11pm close. Entertained here by the Guv from The Door Hinge meaning two local pubguvs called Ray head to head! We were told about the battles with the Pubco who used to own this pub.

Evening visit until 11pm close. Such a contrast to the new micropub, I had visited earlier in the evening, in Dartford. Old style operation here and none the worse for it.

10 May 2018 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening visit until 11pm close. Residential suburbia with just the gentle hubbub of quiet conversations. I'd love to have visited this pub when it was a Beasley's of Plumstead house.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00ExcellentMost definitely the most variable beer in the UK, not as in good and bad, just the variability of bitterness, sweetness and floral hoppiness
Bexley - BOB (Bexley's Own Beer)4.20ExcellentPleasing to see this, the only, local ale sold at nearly a £1 pp less than the big boys' ones. Thin but in excellent nick

Evening until 11pm close. Ugh for beer tonight.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Adnams - Broadside4.70AcceptableMy replacement pint for the Harvey's. 2nd out of a new cask which had itself replaced a cask from when an earlier customer had returned a pint tasting like vinegar. Mine was simply fresh
Bexley - BOB (Bexley's Own Beer)4.20AcceptableAverage indeed
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00PoorNot right. It had no discernible nose and was sharp in taste but not of the vinegary type. Swapped out with good grace but left on sale

Evening until 11pm close. A refugee having found The Door Hinge in Welling closed early Bank Holiday-wise. A gem of a back street house that must be irked that its former regular local CAMRA branch Pub of the Year status has been usurped somewhat by the domination of local micropubs.
