Early evening and I was surprised to find an ex-work colleague at the bar. A good crowd of people that I recognise as former regulars of the sadly closed Mogul pub were sitting in the front part of the bar and customers from the Barbers Arms at the rear who were touring micropubs. I have not listed all the beers on offer.
Milestone - Crusader4.40Excellent
Hopdaemon - House Beer (For The Mash Tun)3.80Excellent

Came in after a works lunch. Quiet at first but then almost full with a group of after lunch drinkers.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Little Cracker5.00GoodExcellent condition and nice and fruity. Dark red ale with lots of spice. There were two beers on, the other was the house beer from Hopdaemon.

Evening until close. Once more Philip Pirrip's identity is smoked out by the Guv Peter from past reports. Deep conversation led me to fail to note all beers.

Evening. Open later than it used to be. Good conversation at the pulpit including with 3 beer and cider loving German fellows, Dad and 2 sons who I initially thought were Dutch. The landlord explained afterwards that they had mainly spoken Plattdeutsch but that the 2 sons spoke High German when speaking together.
Hopdaemon - House Beer (For The Mash Tun)3.80GoodA short list of possible names for this house beer has been drawn up to which my suggestion of Grand Shaft has been added

About The Mash Tun

Summary of Beer Scores

The pub is found in Dover, Kent, CT16 1JH.

Micropub situated close to the Market Square in Dover in the premises previously occupied by Pier Three. It has comfortable chairs (including several chesterfields) plus tables and chairs at the side. The pub has a 200 years old church pulpit instead of a bar. The licensees have stated an intention to set up a micro-brewery at the rear but it has not, to date, come to fruition. Has become renowned for its cask ales and a wide range of real ciders and perries, all sold under gravity dispense from a temperature controlled cellar room behind the pulpit bar.

We have visited this pub 25 times, seen 52 different beers and tried 26 of them.
