19:00 visit. Came here for our local CAMRA branch "business" meeting! A fair crowd of our members took over the spare room on the left of the pub and enjoyed the ales and some quite voiciferous debate this evening. These meetings are usually fairly quiet? We stayed beyond closing and caught the mid-night train....
BeerABVScoreNotes
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Blue Top4.80ExcellentTop class. One of there best ales. (We got it early while it lasted!).
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Copper Top4.10Excellent
Royal Tunbridge Wells - Helles5.00ExcellentGood, but should be better for this abv.
Kent - Bulls Bollocks4.00ExcellentTop class. A lighter version of the Kent Pale. I think that most people here tonite drank a lot of Bollocks as witnessed by all, as it sold out before closing time...
Goacher's - Best Dark Ale (aka Original)4.10Not TriedMissed this ale, for one reason or another!

13:00 visit. I was advised by Pedro in the morning that a beer festival was going on here. Not a disappointment either. Very good in fact. Only visited this nice pub once before, a current 2013 gbg, and has been some 9 times previous. The ales were on a stillage in the unheated room on the left of the pub, which also has a serving hatch and a dartboard. Third measures were also very handy, and all ales were equivalent to £3 a pint. The homemade meat pies and suet pudding specials on offer were very good value at £5 too. Be warned, in attendance was a Kent Messenger reporter! No doubt "mug shots" of two of P&B's regular scribes will appear very soon down this way...!
BeerABVScoreNotes
Kent - Porter5.50ExceptionalSuperb as ever.
Canterbury Brewers - Scrumpkin4.60ExceptionalThis was a top ale. Made with real pumpkin. Very spicy, rich notes.
Caveman (latterly a cuckoo at Leatherbritches) - Chinook (brewed at Kent Brewery)4.30ExceptionalAnother top ale, well hopped, as they all should be.
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA)4.10Excellent
Daleside - Autumn Leaves3.40ExcellentPretty good. Went into the main bar to warm up and enjoy the minted lamb suet meal with this one.
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Wild Hop4.00Excellent
Pin-Up - Milk Stout4.50Excellent
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Top Bull4.00ExcellentVery good too.
Pin-Up - Natural Blonde3.80Excellent
Pin-Up - Honey Brown4.00ExcellentVery good. Only my second sampling of these Pin Up beers.
Kent - Bulls Bollocks4.00ExcellentFinished on this one for todays visit. This was the pubs "house" ale. Very good too. Locally brewed and aptly named I'd say!
Whitstable - Native Bitter3.70Good

The pub is found in West Malling, Kent, ME19 6QH.

Central bar serves smaller room with dartboard and main bar. Very attractive bar with lots of wood, wooden beams and hops hung from the ceiling. Rear patio for good weather and gazebo for smokers. Lots of stripped brickwork. 8 handpumps on bar. Prints of old West Malling / Kent on walls. Perhaps the least spoilt of West Malling's pubs.

We have visited this pub 62 times, seen 128 different beers and tried 96 of them.
