Oakham - Midnight Mild 4.00 Dark brown in colour. coffee flavour with hints of roast malts and a sweet hop background,and a hoppy finish. Country Life - Pot Wallop 4.40 A golden beer with a rather thin body,sweet flowery soft fruit taste,leading to a light bitter finish. Nipped in after work for a couple of quick ones,quite busy.Also had 2 Fernandes and 2 Salamander Beers that i forgot to take note off.
Beowulf - Strong Mild 7.40 Dark brown ale with a rich and fruity port taste. Keltek - Even Keel 3.40 Amber ale, fruity berry taste with tangerine and a gentle bitterness.Unusually tasty for a lower gravity beer. Quiet Friday afternoon
Church End - Grave Digger's Ale 3.80 Dark ruby colour. Roast malt/coffee in the aroma. Taste of berry fruit and coffeee,with quite dry finish. Derby - Penny's Porter 4.60 Black in colour.Smoky Aroma, Tastes of sweet malts with chocolate and berry fruits. Cotleigh - Kookaburra Bitter 4.40 Amber in colour. Flavour had some sweet malt and a floral hop finish. Brown Cow - White Dragon 4.00 A light gold coloured beer. The taste had apples and some floral notes.

In King Street, previously called Vin Quatre, Out of the Vaults and Sloanes, now newly (2016) refurbished with a name modification and a welcome return to real ale, from this long narrow basic town centre pub. Closed in January 2019 then reopened once more with a new name in September 2019.
We have visited this pub 28 times, seen 149 different beers and tried 71 of them.
