3rd stop on our crawl of Canterbury and this is possibly my favourite pub of the bunch. Lovely old building with a really old school interior. Relaxing place to sit and sink a few beers.
| Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale | 3.90 | | Fruity, a little yeasty. Kind of had a homebrew flavour going on. |
| Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Blue Top | 4.80 | Not Tried | |

It was heaving. We managed to get a table though as most of the customers preferred to stand-up and jostle with each other as if in a game of human bumper-cars. I was here with Ian, Martin and Jane.
| Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale | 3.90 | | Had the last pint out and one of the first pints of the new barrel. Both were superb. |
| Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
| Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Blue Top | 4.80 | Not Tried | |

I sat by the door at a huge table and soaked up the atmosphere in what is one of the best pubs I've ever been to. This place is what going to the pub is all about.
| Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale | 3.90 | | The condition on this was superb and the flavours unbeatable; earthy hop, lemon rind and just so quaffable. If only all session beers were this good. |
| Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
| Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Blue Top | 4.80 | Not Tried | |

Friendly pub with a mix of locals and tourists. All Kent beer line up. If you know where to look there are plenty of interesting beers to be had in Canterbury these days.
| Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Blue Top | 4.80 | | Another really good beer from Old Dairy. Worth seeking out. |
| Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
| Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale | 3.90 | Not Tried | |

I sat by myself at a table opposite the fire and stared into the flames as they shot up the chimney. The atmosphere in this pub feels like a tucked-away community boozer even though its on a street packed with tourists. I really like this pub.
| Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale | 3.90 | | Deep golden colour but light. Lemon rind flavours with some toasted peanut. Really good stuff. |
| Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
| Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Gold Top | 4.30 | Not Tried | |

Popped in on my crawl round Canterbury. Jukebox as always was good.
| Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale | 3.90 | | Best beer of the evening. Lightish bitter, but full in mouth, good hop flavours on end. Really interesting drinkable beer. |
| Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried | |

Met Martin who was in town to enjoy some free time. We sat at the back and had a jolly good time basking under the wintery glow of a blowy sky.
| Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Gold Top | 4.30 | | Bread-dough and tangerines. Nice |
| Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Reeve's Ale | 4.10 | | I had a cold so it wasn't easy to taste beer. ...but what I did detect was some soft nutty malt with some nettley hops. Seemed like a good beer. |
| Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
| Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried | |

Busy mid bank holiday afternoon.

About 9pm. There was a live band in who played some songs I recognised but can't name. Sat by the fire and drank my pint rather swiftly as I had a bus to catch.
| Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Copper Top | 4.10 | | Dark brown, milky, sharp and slightly sour. Good stuff. |
| Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
| Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Hopdaemon - Dominator | 5.10 | Not Tried | |

It was the first day of my holiday and we were in Canterbury shopping. Jane had to go off and do something so I went to find some scaffolding to support my credit card. On the way I passed the Bell and Crown. For me this pub has the best interior in Canterbury and also a cracking line-up of beers. I propped up the end of the bar with my back to the real fire. Most of the rest of the pub was empty so I just idly stared out the window at the snow.
| Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Red Top | 3.80 | | A bit sharp but a great session bitter |
| Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
| Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Hopdaemon - Dominator | 5.10 | Not Tried | |
