Friendly pub with a mix of locals and tourists. All Kent beer line up. If you know where to look there are plenty of interesting beers to be had in Canterbury these days.

I sat by myself at a table opposite the fire and stared into the flames as they shot up the chimney. The atmosphere in this pub feels like a tucked-away community boozer even though its on a street packed with tourists. I really like this pub.

Met Martin who was in town to enjoy some free time. We sat at the back and had a jolly good time basking under the wintery glow of a blowy sky.
BeerABVScoreNotes

Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Reeve's Ale4.10GoodI had a cold so it wasn't easy to taste beer. ...but what I did detect was some soft nutty malt with some nettley hops. Seemed like a good beer.

About 9pm. There was a live band in who played some songs I recognised but can't name. Sat by the fire and drank my pint rather swiftly as I had a bus to catch.

It was the first day of my holiday and we were in Canterbury shopping. Jane had to go off and do something so I went to find some scaffolding to support my credit card. On the way I passed the Bell and Crown. For me this pub has the best interior in Canterbury and also a cracking line-up of beers. I propped up the end of the bar with my back to the real fire. Most of the rest of the pub was empty so I just idly stared out the window at the snow.

Busy busy busy. The Hopdaemon Dominator smelt of vinegar so they changed the barrel. A group of German's asked Ian to take their photo. People wandered about wondering when they should pay for their drinks. All in all and interesting evening.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Red Top3.80ExcellentExcellent stuff. Slightly fruity, buscuity brown best bitter.
Hopdaemon - Dominator5.10GoodFirst from a new barrel. Good malts but a bit too clean.

Likeable pub with a good jukebox even if Andrew can't identify the Beatles.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Wantsum - Dynamo (superseded by 4.3% version)4.60AcceptableJust a touch of rubber flavour took away from this being a solid beer.
