Ah the Bell and Crown. After just visiting the Belgium Suit seller down the road it was nice to get back into a proper boozer. Can't really beat the Bell and Crown.

Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale3.90ExceptionalHa ha, this was laughingly good. Really, I did laugh when I took my first sip of this. Man this is great. The fruit, hops and malt in this are just brilliant. Ha ha ha.
Abigale - Samphire4.10GoodVery good condition and I really do want to love this beer but I think it just isn't to be my cup of tea. Slightly tart, toasted and tight. Nice.

Quiet period after lunch, cool and relaxed in here.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA)4.10ExcellentReally good pint, everything an IPA should be.
Hopdaemon - Green Daemon5.00GoodHad rouble scoring this one, it's just not to my taste, in excellent condition and no doubt very nice if you like the style, just not for me.
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Gold Top4.30GoodNice pint, nothing exceptional but OK.

Relaxed sunny drinking establishment. Blues and rock on the stereo. Love this pub.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Prince's Ale4.00GoodExcellent condition. Same colour as Wife of Bath and a very similar flavour except for the presence of grapefruit hops. I love the watery mouth-feel of Canterbury Ales.

Been too long since I was here. Not many in but that gave the pub an airy feel. Still the best pub in Canterbury for me.

3rd stop on our crawl of Canterbury and this is possibly my favourite pub of the bunch. Lovely old building with a really old school interior. Relaxing place to sit and sink a few beers.

Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale3.90AcceptableFruity, a little yeasty. Kind of had a homebrew flavour going on.

It was heaving. We managed to get a table though as most of the customers preferred to stand-up and jostle with each other as if in a game of human bumper-cars. I was here with Ian, Martin and Jane.

I sat by the door at a huge table and soaked up the atmosphere in what is one of the best pubs I've ever been to. This place is what going to the pub is all about.

Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale3.90ExceptionalThe condition on this was superb and the flavours unbeatable; earthy hop, lemon rind and just so quaffable. If only all session beers were this good.

Friendly pub with a mix of locals and tourists. All Kent beer line up. If you know where to look there are plenty of interesting beers to be had in Canterbury these days.

I sat by myself at a table opposite the fire and stared into the flames as they shot up the chimney. The atmosphere in this pub feels like a tucked-away community boozer even though its on a street packed with tourists. I really like this pub.
