My favourite pub in Canterbury. Not that busy. A nice swift pint.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale | 3.90 | | Awesome beer served just right. Really, this is in my top 5 beers. |

Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Dark Conspiracy | 4.90 | Not Tried
24 Dec 2011 (Andrew)
Came here after leaving Ian to catch the train home. Busy with party-people.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale | 3.90 | | An excellent beer served just a few degrees too warm. Shame. |
Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried
Hopdaemon - Green Daemon | 5.00 | Not Tried
19 Dec 2011 (Blair)
In Canterbury for a bit of Christmas shopping and dropped in here for lunch. Fair few sat round the bar and a few tables eating.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale | 3.90 | | Finally I can see what everyone has been raving about, the last couple of times I've tried this it's been far inferior. Really drinkable, fruity ale. |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Dark Conspiracy | 4.90 | | Not the best condition I've had this beer in, but it was still a nice pint. |
Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried
Hopdaemon - Green Daemon | 5.00 | Not Tried
29 Nov 2011 (Andrew)
Came in search of Wife of Bath. Ordered it but then changed my mind when I saw the Gadd's.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Dark Conspiracy | 4.90 | | Good condition but woah, what is this! Cough candy and tar combo. So thick it crawled out of the glass itself. |
Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried
Hopdaemon - Green Daemon | 5.00 | Not Tried
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale | 3.90 | Not Tried | Moral of story, trust your instincts |
18 Nov 2011 (Andrew)
Great pub. The landlady's dad was behind the bar and was his usual jovial self.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale | 3.90 | | A degree or 2 too warm but still outstanding. |
Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried
Hopdaemon - Green Daemon | 5.00 | Not Tried
04 Nov 2011 (Andrew)
Early evening and most people were sitting outside.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale | 3.90 | | This would have been outstanding if it wasn't for it being served far too warm. Real shame. |
Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried
Hopdaemon - Green Daemon | 5.00 | Not Tried
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Copper Top | 4.10 | Not Tried
18 Oct 2011 (Mick)
quiet afternoon visit, getting busy when we left.
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | | Reasonable pint, nice enough just no real zing to it. |
Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried
Hopdaemon - Green Daemon | 5.00 | Not Tried
Abigale - Samphire | 4.10 | Not Tried

Damn good pub.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale | 3.90 | | Ever been out on a boiling hot day and gone for a swim? You know that feeling after you've been in the water for about 5 minutes and the initial shock of the cold has past and you've nearly cooled down? Well this beer is the drinking equivalent of that. Just superb. |
Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried
Hopdaemon - Green Daemon | 5.00 | Not Tried

Good thing about the summer is that everyone sits outside leaving the pub virtually empty. Sat at the back under the Fremlin's window and enjoyed my beer.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale | 3.90 | | A touch too warm but wow this is a great beer. It seems to me to be a cross between and old fashioned Best Bitter and a modern Mid Atlantic Pale Ale. I've tried a few beer that have attempted this combination of styles but none have been as brilliantly good as "The Wife". |
Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried
Hopdaemon - Green Daemon | 5.00 | Not Tried

Cam, Pete and I came to put music on the Juke box we never got to hear because we couldn't stay long. Very busy.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale | 3.90 | | Can't remember a whole lot about this after having been to the beer festival but I do remember it being excellent. |
