Visits Details
02 Sep 2023 (Philip Pirrip)
Late evening visit until close. Saw a well oiled former work colleague who had been asking after my health.
| Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Kashpur (collaboration with Salopian) | 5.70 | | A full bodied flavour hit. Did not detect any Jaipur about it despite the name |
| Northern Monk - Don't mess with Yorkshire Rhubarb & Custard Pale Ale | 4.50 | | A gross failure. No head, lacing and a real chore to finish. I got the flavouring but seemed the pale ale base was a brewery muck up. Not a pleasant pint |
| Gun - Chummy Bluster | 4.40 | Not Tried | |
| Siren Craft - Lumina | 4.20 | Not Tried | Ran out |
| Marble - Theia | 4.80 | Not Tried | |
28 Aug 2023 (Philip Pirrip)
Tried door before 11pm. Locked.
19 Aug 2023 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening visit until close. Always a very beery place to visit.
| RedWillow - Faithless 171 Smoked Best Bitter | 4.10 | | Unusual flavouring but condition superb |
| New Bristol - Cinder Toffee Stout | 4.00 | | All the flavour expected but not an ounce of condition. Even multiple decanting between two glasses hardly produced any sustainable head or life |
| Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Jaipur | 5.90 | Not Tried | |
| Burning Sky - Plateau (was 3.5%) | 3.40 | Not Tried | |
| Bristol Beer Factory - Notorious | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
| Brew York - It's this way Tony | 5.20 | Not Tried | Taster was of unadulterated lemon juice |
12 Aug 2023 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening visit until close. Bit of confusion over when last orders could be placed but resolved. One of the best cask ale ranges I have seen for a long time in one venue.
| Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - DDH Jaipur | 5.90 | | The DDH made this quite different to bulk standard Jaipur. For once I forgave the haze! |
| Marlix - Where's The Bloody Vindaloo Hippie? | 6.00 | | Nightcap with chilli infusion. A novelty but a half was enough. Lacked enough condition |
| Kernel (The Kernel) - Pale Ale (with oats) Chinook | 4.50 | | Lots of floral nose but poured absolutely flat with no head, lacing and condition |
| Salopian - Darwin's Origin | 4.30 | Not Tried | |
| Big Smoke - Solaris Session Pale | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
| London Beer Lab - Session IPA | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
| Saltaire - Titus | 3.90 | Not Tried | |
20 May 2023 (Philip Pirrip)
Late evening visit until close (or what I assume is close!).
| Neon Raptor - Radar Detector | 3.80 | | A very bitter APA |
| Vocation - Tonka Frappe | 5.00 | | Some sort of collaboration brew. Rather heavy and flat in glass. More condition needed to really enjoy |
| Siren Craft - White Tips | 4.50 | Not Tried | |
| Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Astryd | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
07 Apr 2023 (Philip Pirrip)
Late evening visit. Good to see keeping to Friday usual midnight closing on a bank holiday.
| Signature Brew - Roadie - All-Night IPA | 4.30 | | I expected unadulterated lemon juice but not at all. A rather moreish well balanced bitterness |
| Fierce - Scottish Export | 5.00 | Not Tried | Taster was too sweet for me |
| Cloudwater - Fuzzy | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
25 Feb 2023 (Philip Pirrip)
Late evening visit until midnight close.
| Rooster's - Distant Sun | 3.90 | | Chocolate brown ale, enjoyed only to find it taken off sale so must have been one of the very last to come out of cask |
| JW Lees (see also Lees) - Founder's | 4.50 | | Freshly pulled through and put on and lots of zingy mouthfeel and some slight haze |
| Brew By Numbers - Chocolate Stout | 5.00 | | Poured totally flat, lifeless. A full bodied ale that needed condition to enjoy and it had little if any |
| Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Cortado | 4.90 | Not Tried | |
| Northern Monk - A Little Faith | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
| Arbor Ales - Pico Mountain | 3.40 | Not Tried | |
28 Jan 2023 (Philip Pirrip)
Late evening visit until close.
| Cloudwater - SoCal | 4.80 | | Professionally brewed pale |
| UnBarred (brewed at Two Tribes then later at Missing Link) - Old Ale | 6.30 | | Would have been 4* with a little more condition. A slow drinker |
| Mallinsons - Nelson Sauvin | 3.80 | Not Tried | Ran out as mine was being pulled |
| Siren Craft - Suspended in Centennial | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
| Anspach & Hobday - The Ordinary Bitter (was 3.7%) | 3.40 | Not Tried | |
| Verdant - Penpol | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
12 Nov 2022 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening visit until midnight close. Never known it so crowded on a Saturday evening. As it should be though with the best ales in Bromley.
| Siren Craft - Coldblooded Cold-Steeped Porter | 5.00 | | Reliable Siren Craft as always |
| May Provisions (sub-brand of Unity) - Best Bitter | 4.20 | | 4½* superb and one to drown in, even though a basic bitter. Only marred by the deliberately misleading pumpclip making no mention that this is a Unity brewery product |
| Bristol Beer Factory - Notorious | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
| Alpha Delta - Agon Mosaic Pale | 4.50 | Not Tried | |
| Burnt Mill - Luna Beam | 4.50 | Not Tried | |
08 Oct 2022 (Philip Pirrip)
Late evening visit until midnight close. Beer quality visit was my worst ever here. Very light footfall may part explain.
| Mallinsons - Ekuanot | 3.90 | | Very good but slightly warmish |
| Brew York - Tonkoko | 4.30 | | First one out for a while I concluded |
| Bristol Beer Factory - Danger! High Voltage | 5.00 | | Very cloudy but really very smooth. I realised it was last out when ordering another half which could not be fully served |
| Gun - Project Babylon Pale Ale | 4.60 | Not Tried | |
