Came to Canterbury to check this place out. We were pretty impressed, the beer was good and the food was nice as well. A great addition to the Canterbury beer scene.

Canterbury Brewers - Foundry Torpedo4.50GoodPale, hoppy beer. Tastes remarkably like Gadds' - No 3.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale3.90AcceptableNope I simply don't like this beer. Still, lifeless and boring. Not my cup of tea.

Just enough people in without being crowded, nice pub. I liked the copper topped tables.

Canterbury Brewers - Foundry Man's Gold4.00ExcellentA nice well rounded bitter, pale copper, nice balance of hops and malt.

This pub has now been open for four days, and it looks as though it will be very successful. There was a good mix of people trying the various beers and ciders, the staff were enthusiastic, and best of all I managed to get a tour of the brewery.

Canterbury Brewers - Foundry Torpedo4.50ExceptionalSome other customers had a taster of this, and did not like it. They offered it to me, and I just had to have a couple of pints of it before I left. A really nice bitter finish.

Only open for 2 days. Busy with people wanting to sample the new Canterbury Brewers beer. Nice friendly pub with plenty of seating and the brew kit visible to the side behind the bar.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Canterbury Brewers - Foundry Torpedo4.50ExcellentReally good best bitter. Well balanced, slightly syrupy, nettlely hop finish.
Canterbury Brewers - Foundry Man's Gold4.00ExcellentReally very good fruity bitter. Nice hint of buscuity malt in it too.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale3.90GoodNice pint of the Wife.
Canterbury Brewers - Canterbury Wheat4.40AcceptableIan tells me that this is good to style. Not really my kind of beer but clearly in very good condition.

Brewery tap for Canterbury Brewers. The brewery is inside the building and may be viewed through an internal window. Upstairs and ground floor bars with the latter always open. 7 handpumps sported in each of the 2 bars. Substantial discount on real ales for Card carrying CAMRA members - at April 2013 this was 10% on own brewed beer - ask if there is a discount on food too as this is allegedly 10% too. Consists of two bar areas - one downstairs adjacent to the brewery and another up some steps to a mezzanine level. Originally located in White Horse Lane near the Cherry Tree pub. In addition to its excellent home brewed ales the pub is getting a reputation for tasty and good value food. Moved in October 2018 to a new location in Stour Street "lock stock and barrel".

We have visited this pub 144 times, seen 99 different beers and tried 74 of them.
