Jane was meeting a friend in Ramsgate and I'm on holiday this week so I took the opportunity to visit a few old friends (of the pub variety that is). I love the Montefiore Arms. This is my idea of a community pub. At one end there were 2 guys playing darts discussing their children’s GCSE results and at the other the landlord (who was drinking No.7 with a Guinness Top) was playing cards with some regulars. In-between was a chap (who I later chatted to at the Artillery Arms) who was drinking bottled beer. My pint was excellent and served in a proper Gadd’s glass. I was interested to see that the pub sign looked like it had had a run-in with a cannon ball. Great pub – one of my favourite in Kent.
| Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 7 | 3.80 | | Succulent golden beer with a drying grapefruit (hint of pink grapefruit) finish. One of Kent’s best in my opinion. |
| Beartown (latterly part of Manning Brewers) - Bearskinful (aka Premium or SB) | 4.20 | Not Tried | |

Had a good chat with Andy today, perfect place for a quiet few pints.
| Hook Norton - Hooky Gold | 4.10 | | I do not like this. Served very well, but this was far too bitter and zingy for my liking. No, no, no. |
| Hop Back - Summer Lightning | 5.00 | Not Tried | |
| Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 7 | 3.80 | Not Tried | |

Quiet with just the usual faces. Needed a pint as I was bored out of my mind. This did the trick.
| JW Lees (see also Lees) - Scorcher | 4.00 | | Decent enough summer ale. Overly sweet and cloying, but still quite refreshing. |
| Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 7 | 3.80 | Not Tried | |

Came in for this months Gadds' seasonal. Eddie was in to sample it himself. Pretty quiet for a friday really.
| Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Summer's Day | 4.30 | | Deep amber beer with a fruity bitter flavour. Nice bitter finish. Good summer ale. |

| Eagle (formerly Wells & Young's, formerly Charles Wells, formerly Wells) - Wells Bombardier Burning Gold (now superseded by 4.1% version) | 4.70 | Not Tried | |

First stop on a mini crawl of ramsgate. Got here at opening so it was understandibly quiet.
| Highgate - Beezone | 3.80 | | I don't like this. Far too sweet and very cloying. Not my cup of tea. |

14 May 2008 (Blair)
Nipped in for a quick pint just before closing.
| Brains - The Rev James Original | 4.50 | | Sweet toffee-like flavour, plenty of fruit and malt. Pretty decent, not terribly exciting though. |

Came especially to try Gadds' Dark Mild. Got here literally as Andy was opening up.
| Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Dark Mild | 4.00 | | Exceptionally smooth with a nice light roasted malt flavour. A really good mild. |
| Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 7 | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
09 May 2008 (Blair)
Popped in for a quick one on the walk through to Broadstairs.
| Highgate - Beezone | 3.80 | | Not usually a fan of honey beers, but this was one of the better ones. Sweet without being too cloying. |
| Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 7 | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
07 May 2008 (Blair)
Pretty busy for a wednesday night. Popped in for a few after seeing Iron Man!
| Marston's - Merrie Monk | 4.50 | | Malty chocolate aroma, thin chocolate flavour. Reasonable mild. |

28 Apr 2008 (Blair)
Came in for a quick couple just before closing. Quiet, but then where isn't on a monday night?
| Potbelly - Redwing | 4.80 | | Reddy brown with a thick white head. Looks a bit better than it tastes, was by no means bad but compared to other Potbelly beers it was a bit poor. |
| Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 7 | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
