Marston's - Wychwood Hobgoblin IPA (was Ruby Beer, was Hobgoblin)4.50AcceptableThis is the "new improved" version. Ruby ale instead of dark and now only 4.5%. This is pretty pants really.

Busy with the ladies darts team all playing tonight. I'd quite happily be here every night if I had the money.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 73.80GoodLight refreshing bitter, quite hoppy, very easy drinking.
Butcombe - Brunel Atlantic IPA5.00GoodSweet with a floral aroma and honey taste. Quite nice but a little sweet for me.

Quiet, only 3 or 4 people in tonight. Sat and had a chat with Andy the landlord.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Burton Bridge - Top Dog Stout5.00ExcellentDark brown red body with quick light tan bubbles. Coffee and roasted malt flavour. Full body has slight bitter finish. Not unpleasant, quite nice.

Lunchtime session on the sunday, always a great atmosphere. Spent far too much money on raffle tickets, didn't win a thing, oh well.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - DogBolter Dark Porter5.60ExcellentOutstanding porter, rich and dark with a smooth velvety texture. Delicious as always.

Came in at around 8, good atmosphere as per usual. Wanted to stay all night but have a long day ahead tomorrow.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Dark Star - Six Hop6.50ExcellentSlightly hazy amber coloured with a frothy, off-white head. Big aroma of grassy, spicy hops. Sweet caramel balancing mouth puckering hops and a warming alcohol finish. Extremely good.
Batemans - Hooker4.50GoodOrangey golden. Some fresh tobacco in the nose. Caramel toffee, slight sweetness. Nothing special, but nice enough.

Popped in as I'd been told they'd added an extra couple of pumps for ale. They're also now selling Biddingdens cider on handpump which is quite rare. Real friendly local pub, perfect place to come for a chat.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 73.80GoodTasty session bitter on good form.
JW Lees (see also Lees) - John Willie's4.50GoodSweet with a caramel flavour to it. Quite pleasant.

This pub is top notch. He does Archer's village as a regular and then varies the other pump. The beer's always been well served when I've been in and the rotating beers always been interesting. Excellent pub. Tonight there were a few regulars around the bar.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Burton Bridge - Top Dog Stout5.00ExcellentBlack beer with acrid bitter burnt malt flavour. The 5% shows itself as a buzz on the tonge after swallowing. The burnt bitter finsh lasts. Excellent stuff.

I think this is a great pub. The landlord obviously cares about his beer and the atmosphere is relaxed. The local ladies darts team was in so it was quite a busy night.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Archers - Village3.60GoodA well kept pint of beer. A bitter-sweet session beer
Highgate - Fox's Nob4.40GoodRuby brown beer with a sweet-bitter start and a slightly toasted malt finish. A good session bitter well served.

I like this pub. It was quiet with a few people sitting around the bar talking about the forthcoming Planet Thanet Beer Festival.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Potbelly - Beijing Black4.40ExcellentTook me a while to work out there were no hops in this. Slightly sour black beer with an oily sheen to it. Subtle burnt malt on the finish.
