Everywhere in central London seemed jammed to the rafters after the Olympic Marathon, but a short walk brought us here, where all was quiet given the lack of a TV set.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Blue Monkey - Simian Summer3.60ExcellentAmber coloured bitter, crisply hoppy and refreshing.
Blue Monkey - Black Howler5.90ExcellentA black IPA with a high hop rate and a strongly malty, liquorice body.

I think this is only the second time I’ve been here at a weekend. Just as busy as midweek, but different faces. I came here when the beer festival at the Gunmakers fizzled out. I’ve been starved of my usual Mighty Oak diet in recent weeks – so it was good to catch up here.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Mighty Oak - Diamond Liz4.50ExcellentThis beer is pale, sharp and floral hoppy.
Mighty Oak - Snake in the Glass3.50ExcellentVery pale, strongly hoppy. Citrussy.
Mighty Oak - Hidden Horses4.20GoodChestnut-coloured, malty beer.

Not overcrowded in mid-evening, but apparently it had been ‘blitzed’ earlier on, hence the reduced beer selection. Great news, this pub is now selling London’s No. 1 pub snack, Soffles.
BeerABVScoreNotes
