Despite the freezing weather I cycled here for a lunchtime pint. Filled up quickly from 12 with drinkers and diners. Fire on the go thankfully. Small dog in a Santa suit; talk of football and snow in Whitfield as it started raining here. Rain turned to wet snow on my way home - I do love an old-fashioned Sunday lunchtime pint.

Thursday cycle meet. I like this pub and the changing beer selection. Very friendly staff, shame that it’s difficult to get a full pint without asking for a top up.

Cycled here in wintry showers for a cycle meet… senior member of the group, Brian, was 85 today. I was the only mug that cycled! Two good log fires on the go at lunchtime, good number of customers in, mainly drinkers.

Two of us came here for a late lunch. We had a reservation and were offered inside or garden seating. The garden was fairly busy so we chose to sit in the restaurant part of this pub. There had been a problem in the kitchen and we noticed a considerable number of people returning meals and complaining of waiting times. We probably did very well by avoiding the 1pm rush as our food (and beer of course) was excellent.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00ExcellentOn top form, I had several of these.

Late morning visit, a really nice pub, just what a village local should be like. Fairly quiet at this time of day but there was one chap practicing his darts and a group of ladies having coffees. It was nice to see bar billiards here.

Mid afternoon. Some eaters plus two (mature) drinkers sitting at the bar playing with their phones. I took the opportunity of counting the pewter tankards on display - 44, is this a record? Then sauntered in the garden in the sunshine - it is a decent size and set well back from the busy road.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Wye Valley - HPA (Hereford Pale Ale)4.00GoodRefreshing and in good condition - but very pale - a few more hops wouldn’t have gone amiss.
