Can't seem to keep away from this place. Busy for 6:30pm on a week day. Lots of ghoulish things for Isabel to be fake being scared of in the lobby.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Wantsum - Yellow Tail4.50ExcellentVery nice. Good condition. Rich and refreshingly light and citrus flavoured. Reminded me of a Cottage beer - but in a good way
Goody Ales - Bleangate Brewery - Good Health3.60GoodGood condition. Very watery and light with a hint of rye and yeast. Nice in an inoffensive way.

Came for tea. Still had quite a lot of Bank Holiday makers in. Still got a seat and read Tim Martin's editorial. He could do with a good editor.

This pub still looks immaculate, I ordered my beer and then looked at the menu with the intention of ordering something, but nearly every meal included a drink, and I already had one and did not need another, so I gave up.

After jumping on the bus from Canterbury Tony and I continued our tour by getting off in Whitstable. We came to the Peter Cushing for some food. It was quite quiet.

Very stylishly done out conversion, in an art deco style, befitting Whitstable. The interior is one large square and on entering it was apparent the place to sit was along the walls. Isabel watched the small tv in the corner and enjoyed a program about bats. Ah, and I got caught out by a 'coming soon' clip for Wantsum Yellow Tail - very disappointing - lose 'em Tim!

Rooster's - Wild Mule3.90ExcellentNice. light gold colour. Smoked peanut and lime flavours.
Hopdaemon - Incubus4.00GoodNice and soft with stawberry notes
Whitstable - Kentish Reserve5.00Good£1.08 a half! Is it 1995? Anyway this is a light brown beer with a clean juicy palate. Good condition. Thin body.

Evening. A magnificent pub conversion - awesome in size for Whitstable. We had stumbled on Real Ale Wednesday with real ales at £1.79 pp. 7 handpumps and 4 of them with local ales.

12:00 visit. We decided, spur of the moment, to visit lovely Whitstable, rather than do the Cowshed again (which, by all accounts here, sounded as good as ever). Quite busy, as expected today, but the service was good and plenty of staff running around. An impressive JD, another new one for me that I've finally caught up with. This JD appears to support the LocAle micros, which is good to see. And on Wedenesdays, it was noted that these LocAle types are sold at £1.79 a pint too? Very pleasant.
