On a very quiet night in Broadstairs we settled on a drink in here. Only half a dozen or so people in, January is pretty rubbish.
Shepherd Neame - Christmas Ale | 5.00 | | Fruity and a little spicy, surprisingly drinkable. |
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
Shepherd Neame - Late Red | 4.50 | Not Tried

Haven't been here in a while so stopped by to see what's changed. Only half a dozen people in. I do like this pub but it definitely hasn't achieved it's potential.
Shepherd Neame - Whitstable Bay Pale Ale | 3.90 | | Biscuity, not much hop going on. Drinkable but not memorable. |
Shepherd Neame - Spitfire (or Spitfire Amber Ale) | 4.20 | Not Tried
Shepherd Neame - Canterbury Jack | 3.50 | Not Tried

Lively atmosphere, only here for a couple but I always enjoy popping in here for a beer.
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | | Top condition, very good pint of masterbrew. |
Shepherd Neame - Late Red | 4.50 | | A bit flat, condition not great. What a difference a few days makes. |
Shepherd Neame - Spitfire (or Spitfire Amber Ale) | 4.20 | Not Tried

A friend of mine was playing down here so I was obligated to go along and offer moral support. The pub was packed which is pretty strange for broadstairs these days, good to see though.
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | | This beer has grown on me. 5 Years ago you'd have to pay me to drink this, now I actually enjoy it. Basic but pleasant bitter. |
Shepherd Neame - Late Red | 4.50 | | I've always liked this beer. Smooth and malty with a good dose of fruit in there. |
Shepherd Neame - Spitfire (or Spitfire Amber Ale) | 4.20 | Not Tried

Fairly quiet, but very welcoming.
Shepherd Neame - 4-4-2 | 4.00 | | Unfortunately this was a little tired. This pub has quite a good reputation so perhaps I was just unlucky on this visit. |
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
Shepherd Neame - Spitfire (or Spitfire Amber Ale) | 4.20 | Not Tried

Decided to grab my beer from here for the evening. Heaving inside, some kind of american bluegrass duo were playing.
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | | A very good pint of master brew. Malty with a hint of toffee, helps that it was served at the perfect temperature. |
Shepherd Neame - Spitfire (or Spitfire Amber Ale) | 4.20 | Not Tried

Popped in for a quick pint after seeing a movie down the road. I haven't been here in a long time, it's actually a nice little pub. Quite lively with a quiz going on. £6.60 for a pint of Early Bird and a bottle of Bishops Finger is a lot of money though.
Shepherd Neame - Early Bird | 4.30 | | Sweet and hoppy with a fair amount of caramel. Very drinkable although it became a little cloying towards the end. |
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
Shepherd Neame - Spitfire (or Spitfire Amber Ale) | 4.20 | Not Tried

Only 1 other customer in when we arrived and he and the landlord were watching the horse racing. Friendly pub with a lot of character. ...and the beer was good.
Shepherd Neame - Porter | 4.80 | | The best pint of this I've had. Some blackcurrent and a hint of raspberry. The burnt malt was a bit subtler than I've had recently too. |
