Just after lunchtime. Packed at first but then thinned out a bit. Really nice friendly feel to the place , the staff are excellent and the beers not bad too.
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Silver Top | 4.50 | | Somewhere between good and excellent. Milky chocolate but with a bitter finish. Really very good. |
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Pardoner's Ale (superseded by 3.8% version) | 4.10 | | Definitely 4.1 as the pump clip had been altered as such. Lemony, stewed fruit, bitter pears drops you know the thing. Really nice though, excellent condition. |
Adnams - Explorer | 4.30 | Not Tried
Nelson - Powder Monkey | 4.40 | Not Tried
Phoenix - Brunning & Price Original Bitter | 3.80 | Not Tried

Sunday lunchtime, full with eaters when we arrived, managed to get a seat and had a couple as things thinned out a bit. Really friendly staff.
Hopdaemon - Green Daemon | 5.00 | | Really nice smooth pint. I've tried this a few times in the past and this was the best I've had. |
Adnams - Kristal White Ale | 4.20 | | A bit weird. Nice, but heavy hit of cloves in the mouth. Clear and golden. OK but wouldn't have ordered a second as it's a bit too demanding. |
Adnams - Broadside | 4.70 | Not Tried
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Copper Top | 4.10 | Not Tried
Nelson - Admiral IPA | 4.00 | Not Tried
Phoenix - Brunning & Price Original Bitter | 3.80 | Not Tried

This was the first pub in Tony and my tour of the 'bury, the 'bubble and the 'bay. We intended to sit in the garden but on the way though the pub we spotted to big armchairs so sat in them instead. Nice pub this.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Pardoner's Ale (superseded by 3.8% version) | 4.10 | | I do love Canterbury Ales beers and this was no exception. Hint of rose, that great watery body I just love, citrus hops and peanut. |
Adnams - Broadside | 4.70 | Not Tried

I had a half day so I met Jane for lunch here. Not been here for years and it's still a lovely pub. Pretty awesome beer list too.
Titanic - Black Ice | 4.10 | | Wow. As good as the last time I had it in the Mogul in Dover 10 years ago. Roasted honey richness with burnt treacle bitter finish |
Phoenix - Brunning & Price Original Bitter | 3.80 | | Light brown bitter. Heather, orange, mellow grassy hop. |
Adnams - Broadside | 4.70 | Not Tried
Orkney (Sinclair) - Dragonhead | 4.00 | Not Tried

Late afternooon visit with the wife and the dog, who fell asleep on the floor by the log fire (the dog that is). A few people in, it was warm, dark and comfortable. There were six ales on in total.
Goody Ales - Bleangate Brewery - Good Lord | 5.00 | | I'm sure that this said 5% on the clip...excellent porter style ale. Some coffe and vanilla and bit a bit of sour cherries. |
Goody Ales - Bleangate Brewery - Good King Wenceslas | 4.80 | | Good seems appropriate. But really good in fact, malty, fruity copper coloured ale. These were my first tries of beers from this brewery and I was very impressed. Finding excellent beers in East Kent these days is as easy as the life my dog leads. |

The dog had been to the vet for her hydrotherapy session, so we decided to come here so that I could have mine. The landlord is clearly enthusiastic about his beers and let me try the St George's and the Jurassic before buying. Really relaxed friendly atmosphere, so much so the dog slept for much of the visit.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Dark Conspiracy | 4.90 | | Really nice light porter. I prefer the Street Light for example, with more coffee and choc flavours but this was good stuff. |
Kent - Green Giant | 6.00 | | Tasted so much of apples I thought I'd ordered cider. Nice though. |
Dorset Brewing Company - Jurassic | 4.20 | Not Tried | Taster - peach and vanilla nose, but dry and bitter taste. |
Phoenix - Brunning & Price Original Bitter | 3.80 | Not Tried
Skinner's - Cornish Scream | 4.30 | Not Tried
St. George's - Red Dragon | 3.90 | Not Tried | Quick taste, biscuity, malty brown beer. Nice. |

Quite busy early evening with what seemed to be mainly local customers. Very friendly bar staff, dogs and young children clearly welcome.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Pardoner's Ale (superseded by 3.8% version) | 4.10 | | Another excellent ale - you really can't go wrong in Canterbury these days. Golden / amber, fresh sweet malt, not too hoppy but enough bite. Nice. |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 5 | 4.40 | Not Tried
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - She Sells Sea Shells | 4.70 | Not Tried
