Saturday afternoon following a raft race on the river - live entertainment, beers and BBQ in the garden - plenty of families enjoying the event in the sunshine. Very good.

I have always been very impressed with Brunning and Price pubs and came here because it is run by a sister company to that group. I am pleased to report to Jack William that our sandwiches were served up on plates. The chap behind the bar was extremely good and gave us decent sized tasters of two new beers that he put on whilst we were eating our food. He also told us that Brunning and Price have recently bought up a few more pubs in the South of England.

Saturday evening - comfortably busy.

Sunday lunch for a family meal - busy and staff a little stretched - but good choice of well kept beers again. With exception of 'spoons I think this pub is one of the best for real ale variety in the Canterbury area.

Here with Ian on a country pub mini tour of this and the Fordwich Arms. This is such a nice pub. We stayed for 3 pints, went to the Fordwich Arms and then came back here for another.

Easter Monday late lunchtime. Very busy - stopped for a pint, but had lunch - nice food shame about the lack of plates (I believe it is considered fashionable by some to serve food on lumps of wood these days). Back here after my visit last month - good to see the variety of ales continues.

1 min after 1900 so just missed discount time - 60p off a pint so £3.80. Busy with eaters and drinkers but not crowded - good buzz especially for a Monday night. Very good choice of ales.

After an exhausting walk to and from Stodmarsh we finally got lunch here. Gorgeous pub in every way. Sat in the beautiful garden. Will be back.

Saturday afternoon. Most people were eating but there were a few locals at the bar just enjoying a pint. Really cosy well run pub.

About 1.30 when we arrived. A few families in at first. It stayed pretty busy all the while that we were there.
