Again a pub I haven't been in ages. Will check it out from now on as it had a Wantsum beer on.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Banks's - Young's London Original (was Bitter) - previously brewed in Bedford and at Wychwood3.70AcceptableWish I'd had the 1381 like Andrew. This was ok, nothing wrong with it, but lacked anything to grip my tastebuds.

Third pub on the "old school" tour. Did Ian have lager? Can't remember. No, come to think of it he had Youngs Bitter. Shame because the 1381 was excellent. Not too busy in the pub so we sat up the back.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Wantsum - 13813.80ExcellentBrilliant. Light, lemony with a hint of toasty-roastiness.

About 10 o'clock and absolutely packed, so stood outside in the rain instead.

2015 visit and fairly quiet. A nice place and my first visit. Also tried and liked a Blushing Old Wife Cider on Draught here and very nice too.

Went straight after work for a friends leaving-do. It was quite quiet so there was still lots of seating avaliable. The decore has a hard duty pine theme with a padded bench seat running down one side. It seemed like a good pub to me.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Gale's - Robins Revenge4.00ExcellentA deep brown colour with a very malty and slightly caramel bite to it. Low hopping levels meant this was a good winter warmer of a pint. The finish was slightly tart and sort lived
Eagle (formerly Wells & Young's, formerly Charles Wells, formerly Wells) - Courage Directors (use Banks's entry now please)4.80Not Tried
