First time in here in many months. There was a bit of an odd change in vibe, 2 guys took offence to me putting my empty glass on the bar. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt for now.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Dark Star - Original5.00ExcellentRich, dark and satisfying. A classic.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Seasider4.30GoodNot how I remember it. Still a good pint but seemed less hoppy and more buttery.

First time I've been here in over 6 months I think and it was really good to be back. Different faces behind the bar but the same old customers the right side of it.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Oatmeal Stout4.60ExcellentNow this is much more my kind of beer. Thick, rich and satisfying, lots of malt and chocolate.
Acorn - Firecracker4.70ExcellentDark and very malty bitter with lots of rich fruit flavours going on. Took me by surprise, very tasty and very different.
Dark Star - Tripel8.50AcceptableReally not my sort of beer really, I feel bad after seeing all the good reviews but I didn't enjoy it all that much.
Sharp's - Doom Bar4.00Not Tried

Much the same crowd of people that I had seen in the Montefiore earlier in the day. We chatted about the Tomson and Wotton Brewery which used to be at the bottom of the road on the site now occupied by Waitrose. There was a good range of beers on offer, but I was so impressed with the Larkspur that I forgot to make a note of the other beers.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Larkspur5.20ExceptionalWow, this was terrific. Full of flavour, and I love the Citra hop.

Busy at the bar as always. I sat up the top and listened to the eclectic music and wondered at all the regimental cap-badges.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Triple fff - Alton's Pride3.80GoodHad to have this seeing as how it's a previous Champion Beer of Britain. Couldn't quite see why it was a previous Champion Beer of Britain. Nice, dry, clean nutty bitter but nought special

Just like this pub always is, plenty of people enjoying good beer in a convivial atmosphere.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Kipling5.20ExceptionalI rarely mark any beer as exceptional, but this was as good as it gets.
Crouch Vale - Golden Duck3.80GoodA good session golden ale.

Second stop on our Sunday tour of Ramsgate. Fairly quiet and relaxed with a few of the usual characters in. Haven't seen Alistair in a long while which seems a bit odd. This is the real Thanet pub of the year 2010 regardless of what Thanet Camra say.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Rudgate - Ruby Mild4.40ExcellentRich, malty mild with lots of strong dark fruit going on.
Hopdaemon - Skrimshander IPA4.50ExcellentYup, great as ever.
Acorn - Motueka IPA5.00GoodFloral and grassy aroma with a sweet malty flavour and a hefty dose of hops. Good, but the not the best of Acorn's single hop varieties.

It's been a long time since I've done a Sunday session, silly as it's easily my favourite day to go for a drink. Sat back, chilled out and listened to some Fleetwood Mac, good times.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Dark Star - Hophead was 3.8% (some has also been brewed by Fuller's)3.40Excellent

I think we were all mildly disappointed with the range tonight, but that seems to be a common issue with Thanet pubs at the moment. Sat downstairs in the 'flight lounge', I still feel like a child when I'm down there.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Hopdaemon - Skrimshander IPA4.50ExcellentStill a reliable malty bitter. Classic beer.
West Berkshire - Full Circle4.50GoodPleasant fruity and malty with subtle hoppiness.

Don't remember all that much to be honest, not even sure where I sat. Do vaguely remember rifling through the box of hats, inevitable when drunk in the Arty.
BeerABVScoreNotes
West Berkshire - Good Old (or Ordinary) Boy4.00GoodYeah a nice traditional bitter. Nothing fancy but does the job well. Malty with a fruity bready flavour, I liked it.

Second stop on our brief walk through Ramsgate. Talked to the man now in charge of the cellar for a while, seems enthusiastic just hope he can keep it up.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Dark Star - Six Hop6.50ExcellentIntensely hoppy and fruity. Brilliant beer.
