Packed out tonight, great to see. Sat downstairs in the new flight lounge. A pleasure as always.

It's been a while but home at last. The usual characters. Sat up top, chatted to Ali for a while and got a bit tipsy, good stuff.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Bath Ales - Barnstormer4.50ExcellentApparently this is a premium bitter. Looks and tastes more like a porter to me. Either way I thought it was fantastic. Light with subtle flavours of coffee and chocolate. A very distinguished beer.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 54.40GoodMalty and fruity, just a great bitter.
Kelham Island (probably brewed by Thornbridge now) - Pale Rider5.20GoodNot as good as I've had it previously for whatever reason, still a very tasty strong pale ale though.
Sharp's - Doom Bar4.00Not Tried

May have been a mistake to head here after already doing 2 beer festivals. Nevertheless I remember having a great time. Don't remember leaving so I hope I behaved myself...
BeerABVScoreNotes
Beowulf - Dragonsmoke Stout4.70ExcellentI loved this. Wonderfully rich and smoky stout. I had a fair few of them which I don't normally do, so it must say something.
Dark Star - Original5.00ExcellentDark and roasty. A great old ale.
Springhead - Roaring Meg5.50GoodLight and fruity with hops and honey in there. I liked it.

It was a gorgeous day so I had to come to the pub. Not overly busy but a steady stream of people came in and out. Good relaxing atmosphere.

Great beer lineup tonight and a great atmosphere to boot. Had a good chat with Ross the barman and of course Alistair.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Thoroughly Modern Mild6.00ExceptionalThis was absolutely fantastic. A light amber colour but with the sort of chocolate malt flavour you'd associate with a dark mild. Really rich and incredibly interesting beer.
Teignworthy - Martha's Mild5.30ExcellentDark and rich mild. Molasses, smoke and a bit of chocolate make up this beer. I really enjoyed it.

Busier than Churchill's. Alistair was in. Sat up top, stuck on some Led Zep and had a couple of pints. Perfect.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Dark Star - Original5.00ExcellentA fantastic beer. Thick, rich and satisfying. Chocolate and roasted malt dominate.
Whitstable - Winkle Picker4.50GoodI've never been a fan of The Whitstable Brewery but I was impressed with this. Vibrant fruity bitter with a little malt. Really drinkable.
Sharp's - Doom Bar4.00Not Tried

Got here around midnight, I was expecting it to be closed but it was actually heaving. The complete opposite to Churchill's. Sat up top and soaked up the atmosphere.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Dark Star - American Pale Ale (some has also been brewed by Fuller's)4.70ExcellentPale, sweet and very hoppy. A really pleasant beer.
Oakleaf (now see Fallen Acorn entries) - I Can't Believe It's Not Bitter4.20ExcellentI actually really enjoyed this. Tasted more like a bitter than a lager but with a bit of a lager hint. Light zingy and refreshing.
Sharp's - Doom Bar4.00Not Tried

Really busy, which is great to see on a sunday evening. Ross behind the bar was telling me all the beers they've got lined up. I think this will be a good week to pay it a couple of vsits.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Stonehenge - Old Smokey5.00ExcellentI haven't been that impressed with any of Stonehenges beers before so I wasn't expecting much of this. However, this beer is actually fantastic. Fruity with lots of roasted malt and obviously a little smokiness.
Hopdaemon - Skrimshander IPA4.50ExcellentSweet and hoppy with a nice toffee flavour. One of my original favourite ales.

Wandered here after a couple on Churchill's. It was really busy in tonight Alistair was here as well as Gray the Dray. The new landlord seems to have breathed new life into this pub.
BeerABVScoreNotes

Freeminer - Slaughter Porter4.80ExcellentVery good stout, although it tasted very much of wholemeal bread which was strange at first.

Last pub on visit to Ramsgate and Andrew made us make lists of stuff. Nicer now the pub has been re-decorated a bit. Martin and myself then went to Waitrose and had a very funny moment with the woman behind the deli counter. Great beer choice in there as well

Fyne - Vital Spark4.40GoodSurprisinly hoppy for a dark beer
Country Life - Black Boar5.00AcceptableVery dark brown/black beer. Choccy flavours and even a bit sour
