Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Red Top | 3.80
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Seasider | 4.30 | Not Tried
07 Jun 2012 (Philip Pirrip)
Visited around 2030 hours. All seats taken so a good crowd in.
Wantsum - Red Raddle | 5.00 | | Best of the evening |
Hopdaemon - Golden Braid | 3.70 | | One of the last out if not the very last one out of the cask |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Dr Sunshine's Special Friendly English Wheat Ale | 4.20
Brentwood - Porter | 5.00 | Not Tried
08 May 2012 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening visit. Seaside always at its best when feeling autumnal. Beer, conversation and a pork pie that's all - who needs more.
Dartford Wobbler (re-named from Millis) - Gravesend Guzzler | 3.70 | | So good I drank it twice |
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Copper Top | 4.10 | | Not my favourite from the Old Dairy range |
Wantsum - Dynamo (superseded by 4.3% version) | 4.60
12 Apr 2012 (Philip Pirrip)
Packed to the gunnels. Busiest I have ever known it. A birthday party in situ with a huge chocolate cake soon demolished to crumbs.
Canterbury Brewers - Foundry Torpedo | 4.50 | | This brewery is so consistent with its output |
Westerham - Gold Rush (superseded by 5% entry) | 4.00
Wantsum - 1381 | 3.80 | Not Tried
Abigale - Samphire | 4.10 | Not Tried
12 Nov 2011 (Ian)
The day after The Queen visited the area, so did I. Spent an enjoyable morning at the Tate Contemporary and then cycled along the sea front to Westgate which I quickly realised I had never been to in my life. Lovely independent shops and local almost village feel to it. Good mix of locals in and sat talking to the ownder about micropubs. Will come back. My kind of pub.
Mad Squirrel (formerly Red Squirrel) - Conservation Bitter | 4.10 | | Proper best bitter, brown fruity malts and leafy bitter hoppy finish. |
Wantsum - Fortitude (was 4.2%) | 4.60 | | Although I don't normally really like Wantsum beers, this was decent with ok malts, some nettle bitterness on the finish and good condition. |
Dartford Wobbler (re-named from Millis) - Gravesend Guzzler | 3.70 | Not Tried
Canterbury Brewers - Foundry Man's Gold | 4.00 | Not Tried
27 Oct 2011 (Blair)
Brought along a couple of friends who hadn't been yet. Once again really unlucky with the line-up as it seems we'd just missed some fantastic beers. Ah well one day we'll have some luck.
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Fresh Hop | 4.00 | | Overly sweet and very cloying. Also severely lacking in hops considering the name. Disappointing. |
21 Jul 2011 (Andrew)
First time for me here. What a great place. A absolute credit to East Kent's Micropub revolution. I sat for nearly an hour chatting to the landlord about beer and the like. It's only been open for 3 months and I hope its popularity keeps growing.
Westerham - Grasshopper Kentish Bitter | 3.80 | | I like Grasshopper. My favourite Westerham beer I think. |
Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | | Perhaps lacking a little condition and with a slightly uncharacteristic roasted sugar edge. |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Seasider | 4.30 | Not Tried
16 Jun 2011 (Blair)
My first time to this new addition to Thanet's 'micro-pub' scene. Very nice little place tucked away where westgate's undesirables can't find it. I think I was a little unlucky with the line-up as he's had some cracking beers on lately.
Dartford Wobbler (re-named from Millis) - Kentish Best | 4.00 | | Pretty good best bitter, certainly better than I expected from this brewery. I'd gladly drink it again. |
Nelson - Spinnaker | 4.00 | | Alrightish. Malty with a weird aftertaste. |
Hopdaemon - Golden Braid | 3.70 | Not Tried
Wantsum - Dynamo (superseded by 4.3% version) | 4.60 | Not Tried

I wish I had read the directions for finding this pub, we walked up and down St Mildred's Road several times looking for number 21, until we spotted it down an alley way. We got to the pub soon after the evening opening time and enjoyed a few pints before catching a train to Ramsgate for more beer.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 7 | 3.80
Buntingford - Royston Red | 4.80 | | This beer has won several Camra awards, but proved not to be to my taste. |
Nelson - Friggin in the Riggin | 4.70 | Not Tried
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Copper Top | 4.10 | Not Tried
