Lunchtime. Far too early in the day to be considering the CBOB!

11 Dec 2012 (Martin the Mildman)
Busy on a Tuesday evening. Sat outside on the decking area.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Oakham - Export Citra4.70ExcellentStronger version of the single hopped citra beer and none the worse for it. Very pale and packed full of lemony citrus flavours with the usual juicy malt base. My score 17/20.
08 Aug 2012 (Stephen Harris)
Planned pre-Olympic boxing drinks. But the little bar was crammed and, whilst there was room out on the decking, there was all an-pervading pong from the adjacent market's bins. So the visit was brief.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Redemption - Hopspur4.50GoodDark amber bitter, dryish, with a good malt character merging into floral hops.
Brewster's - Marquis Bitter3.80Not Tried

BeerABVScoreNotes
Tiny Rebel - Cwtch4.60AcceptableRed in colour with a bitter flavour from both toasted malt and hops. Bitter finish. My score 14/20.
25 Jun 2012 (Philip Pirrip)
2255 hours until close. All three handpumps dedicated to Tiny Rebel beers one of which was also being dispensed on keg.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Tiny Rebel - Hadouken An amplified IPA7.40GoodNot as full flavoured as other similar strength IPAs I have tried. Slightly hazy
Tiny Rebel - Hadouken (on keg)7.40AcceptableTried a half off the keg tap to compare with the handpumped cask ale variety. Apart from being pea soup in clarity it did have a zing and bitterness lacking in the cask version. I think it'll need to be sparkling clear to sell in quantity

By The Horns - 6X6 OPA4.40AcceptableGolden and rather one dimensionally bitter. The finish is very dry and bitter. My score 13/20.

BeerABVScoreNotes
Titanic - Lifeboat Ale4.00GoodRuby coloured mild style beer with sweetish toffee malt flavours and a little fruity hop in the finish. My score 15/20.
19 Mar 2012 (Stephen Harris)
It is testament to the power of Twitter and so on that a large crowd gathers here on a Monday evening for the 6pm launch of a new Kernel beer.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Arbor Ales - Columbus4.00GoodA pale bitter with an extreme hop bitterness. Possibly even, and I didn’t think such a thing was possible, too hoppy.
Kernel (The Kernel) - India Pale Ale - Red6.00GoodUnfortunately, this beer is served on keg dispense, along with associated problems of temperature and carbonation. Like all Kernel beers, it is cloudy. Reddish in colour and smoothly hoppy.

The pub is found in Southwark, Central London, SE1 9AG.

Small pub on the north side of Borough Market run by the same people who own the Utobeer bottled beer stall in the market itself. The bar has 3 hand pulls serving UK cask beers and 6 taps supplying continental and world beers. An extensive bottle beer selection is also available from the fridges behind the bar. The bar has stripped wood floors, pale beige walls and a historic Pilkington glass ceiling. A decked patio provides extra space and seating. Definitely an excellent addition to the Southwark beer scene.

We have visited this pub 151 times, seen 348 different beers and tried 249 of them.
