We arrived at 7pm opening time and it only took a few minutes for the pub to get busy. A good atmosphere in here tonight in this wet let traditional pub.
Goacher's - Real Mild Ale | 3.40 | | Very good mild ale, my friend found a bit of hop leaf floating in his pint, he was not impressed but I was. |
Brumaison - BB | 3.60 | | I have not seen this brewery's beers on sale before so I had to try one. I was very impressed, a full flavoured traditional bitter at 3.6% abv. superb. |

Evening visit from 19:00 opening, although we were the first customers the bar soon became full. I purchased some instant raffle tickets and won some jelly babies, wine gums and a bottle of pear cider which had a list of ingredients on the label that will ensure that I don't drink it. Love the jelly babies though, a most enjoyable evening.

The full lunchtime session from 12:00 until 15:00 close, Kate apologized for only having three ales on as she had been busy over the festive period. A good chatty crowd in the bar made for a most enjoyable visit.

I walked along the road from the bus stop at Brenzett and arrived here about ten minutes before opening time, I was number four in the queue outside the door. About a dozen or so outside by the time the door opened punctually at 12:00 and very busy by the time I left about 90 minutes later. Needless to say it was the day of the pub's annual beer festival. It was good to see a lot of familiar faces here today.

Evening from opening time to last train. Like old times with just regulars coming and going, a Trebor mint loving donkey braying loudly in the field opposite and the landlady in top form. Tonight even drivers gave us safe clearance on the dark walk back.
Goacher's - 1066 Old Ale | 6.70 | | Allegedly near the end of the cask but enough for us in near perfect condition |

Lunchtime visit and absolutely full, a good mix of familiar and new faces. It seemed odd to see gleaming Rolls Royce cars parked outside this basic old fashioned boozer with outside toilets, and fantastic to see people of all ages and backgrounds enjoying beer together,

18 Dec 2016 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening. Car park and pub packed to the gunnels following a carol service in the church opposite reminding us all of the close link twixt church and imbibation since ancient times. The main bar was furnace hot but I seemed to douse the fire somewhat by burning some damp out of date railway timetables.
Goacher's - Real Mild Ale | 3.40
Goacher's - 1066 Old Ale | 6.70 | | Pre-warned it was running out. On the second pint (the last out of the cask) Kate observed my glass had a "white gathering" at the bottom so I did not drink with my eyes |
Goacher's - DSB (house beer) | 3.80
Weltons - Feast of Stephen | 3.80 | Not Tried
