Final pub of a tour of Sandwich, busy with both drinkers and diners. I have not listed all the beers that were on offer.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Mad Cat - Crispin Amber4.00ExcellentI was not previously aware that there are two versions of this beer, the amber version has more dark malt but is otherwise the same as the pale.

Saturday lunchtime: we'd come in search of the Magna Cartas and Kent Green Hop Ale:success on both fronts. We sat in the little courtyard by the river, where the barman fussed our dogs.

Late afternoon - following the coastal cycle route - I was gratefully corrected by a gent - Andy - who had been instrumental in helping to set up National route 1 - it comes off the coast here and heads towards Canterbury. I of course needed route 15 to continue towards Thanet!
BeerABVScoreNotes
Mad Cat - Crispin Ale4.00Good... May even have rated excellent if I hadn't just had an ice cream.

Lunchtime on a wintry Saturday . We came to be fortified by the Carribean cookery before braving the arctic wind. Beer choice seemed to be seasonally limited.Grand pub.

Early evening, we needed to eat so we came to this part of Sandwich with three pubs on the road junction, we chose this one. A good selection of ales (I have not listed them all) and some very nice food.

Boy was I ready for a pint when I got here after a hot but enjoyable hike around Pegwell Bay from Ramsgate. Busy with Sunday lunch trade and it was a case of having to prop up the bar.

15:30 & 15:45 Had a real problem getting served. On my first attempt I assumed I had donned a cloak of invisibility. Went back because I wanted to try the new house beer. Service only slightly better.

Early afternoon, a few customers enjoying meals. We sat by the window and enjoyed the fact that there was no traffic along Strand Street thanks to road works.

Came to Sandwich for the afternoon and popped in here for lunch. Sat in the small terrace overlooking the river ( the closest we could find to a beer garden in Sandwich...). Food was really good and the beer lineup impressive, will probably make this the first port of call on future trips out this way.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - She Sells Sea Shells4.70GoodPale, sweet with a fairly bitter aftertaste. Went down well.

The pub is found in Sandwich, Kent, CT13 9EA.

Found opposite the Admiral Owen. Very pleasant old building and an enthusiastic landlord. By the Barbican and old toll bridge over the River Stour. Low ceilings, wooden beams and brick walls create an old world feel.

We have visited this pub 11 times, seen 20 different beers and tried 9 of them.
