Late evening until some time after 11pm close. A randomly planned visit but enjoyable all the more for chance meeting a local CAMRA activist and swapping tales.
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Lovely nick |
Theakston - XB (was 4.6%) | 4.50 | Not Tried
Brockley - Red Ale | 4.80 | Not Tried

A few outside and inside when we arrived mid evening. Had our first drink outside before moving inside as the temperature dropped a little. Friendly staff. By the time we left the place was very busy.
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00
Brockley - Porter | 4.30 | | This had replaced the Sussex Best. Strong coffee flavours, not particularly to my liking. During the week the pub had the other Brockley Brewers ales available. |
St Austell - Tribute | 4.20 | Not Tried

Evening. Rather cliquey around the bar but hey I was only a one pint visitor.
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Penultimate pint from the cask and as is so often the case with this beer it was as good as ever, if not better for any sediment in the cask |
Mighty Oak - Maydazed | 3.90 | Not Tried
13 Apr 2013 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening. Brockley Brewery beers regularly on here now but tonight were in the cellar but not ready.
Triple fff - Pressed Rat & Warthog | 3.80
Theakston - Best Bitter | 3.80 | | Long time since I have had this beer - flowery hop beer |
30 Mar 2013 (Philip Pirrip)
End of evening hunt for Brockley Brewery wares.
Brockley - Pale Ale | 4.10 | | 1st rate I must say. Tasting notes said hints of apricot and like the scarf in Carly Simon's "You're so vain" there certainly was |
Brockley - Golden Ale | 3.80 | | Tasting notes said hints of tangerine and there were but the Pale Ale quality hit the mark better |
Titanic - Black Ice | 4.10 | Not Tried
24 Mar 2013 (Philip Pirrip)
Mid evening. Visited here as had heard that the new Brockley Brewery had launched its beers here on Friday. Unfortunately all sold out.
Burton Bridge - Damson Porter | 4.50
Theakston - Best Bitter | 3.80 | Not Tried
Brockley - Golden Ale | 3.80 | Not Tried | Sold out after last Friday's new brewery launch |
Brockley - Pale Ale | 4.10 | Not Tried | Sold out after last Friday's new brewery launch |

I arranged to meet two friends here after work and we were all pleasantly surprised to find that a small beer and cider festival was in progress. The pub is in Brockley incidentally, rather than Brockely, which sounds like something you might eat.
Orkney (Sinclair) - Raven Ale | 3.80 | | Golden in colour with fruity malt and bitter hops. |
Coastal - Merry Maidens Mild | 4.00 | | A dark brown, almost black mild with a little bit of roastiness. |
Crouch Vale - Brewers Gold | 4.00 | | Suffered a little from being served on gravity dispense from a temporary stillage – a bit warm and flat. But recognisably Brewers Gold. |
Kelham Island (probably brewed by Thornbridge now) - Pale Rider | 5.20 | Not Tried
Salopian - Shropshire Gold | 3.80 | Not Tried
Jarrow - Jobling's Swinging Gibbet | 4.10 | Not Tried
Potton - Shannon IPA | 3.60 | Not Tried
Mighty Oak - Oscar Wilde Mild | 3.70 | Not Tried | “Just run out”. |
Cumbrian Legendary - Loweswater Gold | 4.30 | Not Tried
