Quietish at the front in the small bar for my late afternoon visit. Prompt, friendly service from the attentive barmaid. Have only ever sat in the front from memory and love the old painting of the polar bear and framed photographs, including of the old governor and street scenes and the Shepherd Neame memorabilia including mirrors, bottles and demijohns.
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | | Good head and lacing on this local brew with its brewery and taproom just yards away in the centre of Faversham. A dry bitter first hit. A sweet biscuity maltiness coming to the fore followed by a dry and mildly fruity aftertaste lingering. |
Shepherd Neame - Whitstable Bay Pale Ale | 3.90 | Not Tried

Mid afternoon- great winter feel to the place. And the Bishops Finger was on tap still.

Mid afternoon busy yet space available in the rear bar. Would've been the usual chilled out quiet and relaxed atmosphere expected apart from a really annoying loud screeching woman who could be heard from all corners of the pub.
Shepherd Neame - Bishops Finger | 5.00 | | At last! Though rather bland and not as rich, strong tasting and liquoricey as I remember. |
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried

Mid afternoon not too busy with a few folk finishing off their late lunches. I sat in the empty middle snug bar and tentatively sipped my pint.
Shepherd Neame - Late Red | 4.50 | | If beer could be brewed using fallen leaves am sure it would taste like this. Ugh... |

Busy for late afternoon visit with most customers sitting outside at the front still soaking up the sunshine. Remember it well for the polar bear's giant painting in the front bar. Another two bars are further into the establishment from my tour around it. Fine stained-glass doors lead into front bar and no visible changes from earlier visit some 20 years ago. Friendly service from bar staff member.
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | | In fine condition with good lacing and a slightly fruity mouthfeel. |

One of the loveliest pub interiors in Kent, in my opinion. The log fire kept it toasty warm, and a grinch wandered in off the street, stroked a Christmas tree bauble and left. It was all happening.

Stop 4. May first visit to this impressive heritage pub. Plenty of diners in the saloon and snug. We sat in the front bar and admired the architecture.

Early to mid afternoon and fairly quiet, we took advantage of the superb front bar but moved shortly after to the more cosy middle snug bar thanks to folk to-ing and fro-ing and not closing the the door.
Shepherd Neame - Bishops Finger | 5.00 | | In superb condition a joy to drink hence three pints went down very well. |
