15 Jun 2013 (Ian)
As a member of my local Camra branch, and this is our beer festival, I felt duty bound to help out behind the bar for the second year running. Good festival, well run, attendees are pretty good too. I'll be back next year to do the same.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Goacher's - India Pearl Ale5.60ExcellentBeer of the day for me, complex malts, biggish hops on finish. Only thing I had more than once.
Bear Claw - Misty Skyline5.30ExcellentGood strong golden ale, loved the ripping astringent Galaxy hops on this one.
Titanic - Mild3.50GoodLovely darkish mild I could have drunk all day.
Peerless - Viking Gold4.00GoodGood golden ale, loved the hop on this one
Rother Valley - Anniversary Ale4.40GoodVery acceptable drinkable bitter.
Black Hole - Cyborg5.50GoodVery drinkable strong golden ale, plenty of hops
Elland - Savannah3.80GoodCracking condition, good citrusy hops on finish.
Tonbridge - Alsace Gold4.00GoodReally interesting hops from France. Raspberry pip and nettle. Most interesting beer of the day.
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Dark Side of the Moo7.00GoodStrong malty juicy dark beer.
Corvedale - Normans Pride4.30AcceptableOK bitter, some toffee some nettle hop.
Maxim - Maximus6.00AcceptableRuby ale with some liquorice which isn't my favourite flavour in the mouth. Good strong ruby ale though.
Coach House - Coachman's Best Bitter3.70PoorDidn't like the aroma, flavour was just a bit of caramel, not much hop, dull
Rockin Robin - Hoppin Robin3.70PoorSmelt of rubber, not much hop.
Rockin Robin - Reckless Robin4.50PoorLike the other Rockin Robin beer, smelt slightly of rubber.
