Mid afternoon. Half a dozen others in. Very pleasant. There will be a mini beer festival this weekend (29/11 to 1/12) to celebrate the first anniversary of this rather good micro.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Kent - Local Hero3.40ExcellentGreat condition and a terrific body that punched well above its ABV.
Chislet - Island Road4.50AcceptableRather disappointed with this - rather bland with little life in it.

The rather wonderful "Real Ale Finder" app said that the Larkins Green hop was on at the Brickfield, so we headed over. It only came on yesterday but I think we got the last 2 pints! And then the Goachers Green Hop came on, so mustn't grumble. The pub was heaving when we arrived just after 7pm but empty when we left at 9pm. Our new skill: pub clearing. Great pub this.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Goacher's - Green Hop3.90ExcellentVery pale gold (so can't work out what its base was as Fine Light is darker). Really earthy and toasted. Very drinkable.
Larkins - Green Hop Best4.00GoodLast couple of pints in the barrel so the condition was a little lacking, but still, it was a good pint.

Early afternoon and first visit to a very welcoming locals' micropub with a sizeable rear garden with bench seating. On the inside there is a mix of high and low seating.

Shivering Sands - Golden Sands IPA5.20GoodPump clip details this IPA is 4.5%. Good carbonation with a fruity, citrusy mouthfeel and a bitter, hoppy aftertaste.

Clean decore, converted shop (ex-takeaway) but comfortable and chatter doesn't seem to resonate.

Pre-arranged early opening at noon for our cycling group. 8 of us made it despite the weather. Really helpful here and a good session enjoyed by all.
