Now called the BLEAN TAVERN. Oh dear - came here for a meal on recommendation of some friends. Commecial radio blaring out adverts and just two other people dining in the corner of this extended pub/restaurant. The barman was scruffy and disinterested (or just awkward?) - had one round and had to leave, without dining.

The first Hare and Hounds beer festival was on so Jane, Isabel and I came along. We sat in the garden (which is large and relaxed) and enjoyed the beer and the weather. The staff were friendly and the whole event was, well, nice and relaxed. There was a hog roast on too if you fancied it.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Dark Star - Mild for May3.60ExcellentReally liked this. Black beer tasting of roasted malt. Low hopping and some sourness. Excellent
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Dr Sunshine's Special Friendly English Wheat Ale4.20GoodLight soapy pale golden coloured beer. A light lager like taste with hints of lime. In fact, if I didn't know better I'd have though I was back in Plymouth 20 years ago drinking lager and lime.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Thoroughly Modern Mild6.00GoodSmelt of Twiglets in a good way. Hazy, rich, hints of strawberry and orange peel. Tany finish with low hopping. A good beer but just a bit too rich for me.
