| Hogan Sampling |  | 14 May 2026 | 3rd beer of this visit: Fresh on was this East London pale from the Hackney brewery set up 2013 and here presented with very good head and lasting lacing. A not overly fruited first bite. A lively hoppiness rising from its Amarillo, Cascade, and Citra hops sourced from the West Coast of the USA. A fruitiness winning over with resinous pine, grapefruit, lemon peel, and tropical fruits all descending on my taste buds. A hint of malt for good measure from its Maris Otter, Pale Cara, Munich, and Wheat lending an underlying bready, sweetness. A dry hoppiness prevailing. A dry fruited hoppy finale. Superb conditioning and served in very good nick. |

| Hogan Sampling | | 16 Mar 2025 | Good head and lacing to start with on this Hackney pale. Some 30 minutes after being served it, a gentle decant helped to restore it. A fruity first hit and a tropical fruit-infused mouthfeel with plenty of citrus awash. Lightly sweet and a bit of a citrus kick to it in the aftertaste. One sufficed for me. |

A mildly fruity, as in citrusy, first hit with a pleasant oiliness from the hops used. It was also like a beer from the wood with resinous notes in it and was suitably dry in its aftertaste. Another had to follow and much liked by the other Saturday regulars as well and indeed was recommended by them. |
