A dry hoppy first hit. A bitter hoppiness bounding up with Fuggles also in on the mix alongside some locally sourced malts lending flavours of toasted bread crusts and crisp biscuits, and a toffee-infused and light caramelised sweetness. A floral hoppiness prevailing with lavender and fresh springtime herbal flavours hitting my taste buds. A mildly fruited hoppy note waving on its paddle out. Served in good form still and holding its conditioning throughout. |

| Hogan Sampling |  | 06 Sep 2026 | 1st beer of this visit: Fresh on today and showing off a good head and lasting lacing on this Kentish bitter named after one of its hops, Kent Golding, in the ingredients from brewing which began in 2010, briefly out of Larkins Brewery at Chiddingstone, Kent, before opening their own dedicated 10-barrel plant in Birling, Kent, in October of that year. A dry hoppy first hit from also its other hop, Fuggles, in on the mix alongside some locally sourced malts. A bitter hoppiness bounding up with its Goldings hops behind lavender and fresh springtime herbal notes, alongside a hint of sweet honey and a touch of thyme and light kitchen spices, and its Fuggles hops behind earthy and woody flavours including of damp soil, wood, and autumn leaves, and a hint of green grass and mint. A touch of maltiness for good measure from locally sourced malts lending flavours of toasted bread crusts and crisp biscuits, from its traditional English pale and amber base malts, a touch of caramelized crystal malt providing a layer of toffee and light caramel sweetness, and the specialty malts giving the beer its amber colour. A floral fruited hoppiness prevailing and waving on its paddle out. Served in top nick with perfect conditioning. |

A moreishly hoppy bitter first bite with hints of toasted bread crusts and biscuit. A fruited bitterness rising from its berry-fruits lending it a pleasant sweetness. A gentle herbal bitterness from its Goldings and Fuggles hops winning over. A honey-infused and spicy malty note from its variety of local malts sailing downwards. In very good nick and so mostly stuck to it apart from the ESB to end on. |

A dry hoppy first hit. A bitter hopped dryness pervading aided by its Kentish hops, Goldings and Fuggles. A malty note or two queuing up to slide downwards. The fruity kick felt the night before was gone and like a deflating balloon, its flavours were expiring but still that moreish dry hoppiness lingering. |

I felt it was perhaps improved on its very fresh beginnings the day before. A very hoppy first bite. A dry bitterness rising with a lively hop or two tap dancing on my palate, aided by those Kentish hops, Goldings and Fuggles. The odd fruity kick felt before its final cascading downwards. |

| Hogan Sampling | | 12 Aug 2025 | Now its third day on and still very good. This Birling-based bitter, north of West Malling, came with still good head and lacing and almost lasting throughout. A very dry bitter first bite. Aided by its Golding and Fuggles hops, a moreishly dry hoppiness climbing up. A malty note or two playing out and still got that lovely dry oily hoppy aftertaste! Almost a touch of resin to my taste buds from its hoppy oiliness like the Greek wine, Retsina. Very moreish and so once again stuck with it apart from a half of a new stout just on to end on. |

| Hogan Sampling | | 11 Aug 2025 | Only its second day on. Head and lacing, still very good, and lasting, good. A very dry oily first bite from this Birling-based bitter, north of West Malling. A fruity bitterness veering up. Its Golding and Fuggles hops lending hoppy infusions with a gentle bitterness bobbing up and down. A very palatable dry hoppiness sliding down my hatch and lingering in my cakehole. As on Sunday, intensely moreish and so stuck with it but for half a stout for my tide to go out on. |

Very good head and lacing and lasting throughout its performance. A very bitter first bite. A lovely hoppiness rising ably assisted by its Golding and Fuggles hops. A malty note or two joining in to aid its voyage down my appreciative hatch! Very moreish and so stuck with it apart from a half of stout to end on. |

I recall getting the last one out of the barrel but it was still drinkable. A dry bitter first hit. A fruit-infused bitterness rose up. A touch of sourness presented itself in the aftertaste and was not its good self being the last out of the barrel! |

A pleasant bitterness rising up and shining in the mouthfeel. A lively hoppiness almost exploding on the palate with a full helping of Goldings and Fuggles hops tap dancing throughout their sensory show on the taste buds. A dry hoppy fruitiness then presented itself in the aftertaste. Very moreish and also aided by those Kent malt flavours and so stuck to it! |
