Mid afternoon visit. Beer festival in full swing. At least a hundred people here. Superb blues band laying down some mellow sounds. Very enjoyable. All ales still on (see 16 May entry).

Lunchtime cycle meet. The beer festival officially starts tonight - but we were allowed to start early. Excellent line-up of ales all at £4.20 a pint. Well worth coming to over the next 3 days.

Swift one on my cycle ride for a decent pint after Pluck’s Gutter. Wasn’t disappointed, great atmosphere in here with plenty of diners and drinkers.

Cycle group lunchtime meeting. This seems to be the favourite of our dozen or so pubs in East Kent. 12 cyclists out today despite the near-zero temperatures. A good time was had by 11 of us (someone wasn’t keen on the coffee!)
