AndrewAcceptable15 Aug 2012 This was one of the most bizarre beers I've had. It looked in really good condition and smelt of sherbet BUT the taste was of sharp lemon and sherbet to the point that I couldn't decide if there was a lot of vinegar in it. As a beer, I couldn't work it out and to be honest I didn't fancy trying. Given that I can't work out if it was off I'll give it a score of Acceptable but it was touch and go whether I gave it a "poor".

IanAcceptable02 Nov 2005 Gold/copper colour with thin bubbly off white head. Very perfumed aroma, rose petals and peach/apricot/nectarine fruit. Fine in mouth with some bitterness. Finish has more fresh stone fruit and hop bitterness. Simply bizarre. Good bitter with peach/apricot and nectarine flavours all over it.

Theakston Grouse Beater

4.20% ABV.

This is a golden, mid-gravity bitter, with initial sweetness balanced by a moderate hop bitterness. Dry-hopped with Fuggles hops to give a delicate aroma, complemented by a subtle hint of moorland berry, a favourite with grouse.
