McGargle | | 05 Jul 2016 | Bit thin for its strength. |

Ray | | 29 May 2013 | Good roasty and hoppy stout would have been improved by serving through a tight sparkler. |

Ray | | 04 Jan 2011 | Extraordinarily complex but well balanced stout. Would have been 5* is served at appropriate temperature. Still a 'beer of the year' contender and it's only early January. |
Ray | | 03 Jan 2011 | Sparkling dark ruby with tight dark beige head it looked great. Some hops and fruit on the nose leads to well proportioned flavours. Some fruit, hints of chocolate and liquorice against an top quality malt base. Satisfying long finish. Would have deserved 5* if served warmer. Had to wait 15 minutes for the beer to warm and its true quality appear. |

McGargle | | 01 Oct 2015 | At its best this is a deep and subtle beer. This wasn't and seemed poor value at £4.35. |
McGargle | | 12 Feb 2015 | Much more depth of flavour than keg versions. |

McGargle | | 04 Jun 2014 | Both hoppy and rich - clever trick. |
Ray | | 31 Jul 2013 | More choclatey than I remember it seemed a little ill defined and lacking the roasty flavours. Served too warm - could have dragged this down to 2* really. |
