My first visit of the year. Cycle and train from Canterbury for the Coldred Literary Society (pub book club). A lot of effort for a book I didn’t enjoy - but I did enjoy putting my copy on the open fire in the main bar. Prices up to £4.40 a pint now - but it’s still thriving. I counterd at least 25 in at 7:30. Long may it survive.

Kent - Drenched3.00AcceptableEnd of barrel, thought it rather insipid - but I hadn’t noticed the ABV. Not one of Kent’s best.

New Year’s Eve Eve. Not too busy, just half a dozen or so locals for Twixmas. So nice to go somewhere where everyone knows your name. Cheers - for new year tomorrow, I’m staying in!

Busy Tuesday evening. Meeting about the pond in the small bar. Ramblers from Shepherdswell having an impromptu quiz in the main bar, plenty of other regulars. Gratis cheese and sausage rolls on the bar. The pub has been awarded community pub of the year by the local CAMRA branch. Thoroughly deserved.
BeerABVScoreNotes
