The interior is lovely. Hops on the ceiling, solid wood furniture, wooden floor, wide and spacious.

Just time for a couple before catching an evening bus to Dorchester South for a train home. There were just a few customers in the bar, but a fair number enjoying a warm evening outside.

Lively traditional backstreet boozer, with a varied selection of ales from the West Country. Gravity dispensed Otter Ale and Bitter plus 1-3 regularly changing guests. Most of bar staff very friendly and welcoming. Beer quality variable, in the range from average to very good.

The first pub on my tour of Bridport. Having got of the bus with no map I just wandered around until I found one of the pubs on my list. What a great pub to start with. The lady behind the bar was very friendly as were the 2 chaps coming in and out with the remnants of an old bath. I sat outside in the little side courtyard and watched the occasional passer-by pass by.
