With the Parkerville closed and the Ship out of Harveys, we came here. Nice interior and the crowd sitting at the bar were friendly.
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | | Perfectly well served pint, just didn't really taste of anything. |

Friendly and welcoming and fairly busy for this popular pub. The barmaid tipped us off that half a banquet of food was up for grabs from an earlier funeral wake which was gratefully received by us.
Shepherd Neame - Spitfire (or Spitfire Amber Ale) | 4.20 | | Unexpectedly excellent a justified 4.5 should this option be available on this site. |

The Parkerville was closed, as was The Pub and the Barrel. I think it has changed hands since I was last in. Only one beer on, and three customers. The woman serving was friendly.
Shepherd Neame - Spitfire (or Spitfire Amber Ale) | 4.20 | | Not a beer I usually go for, but it was really good. |

Busy late afternoon pint, lively atmosphere, multiple sports being shown.
Shepherd Neame - Late Red | 4.50 | | A good pint of late red, the only Shep's beer I partake in, around autumn time. |

Here with Ian. It was busy with people watching the Chelsea game. We found a couple of stalls at the back
Shepherd Neame - Amber Ale | 4.50 | | Quite nice but with a hint of vingear. |

Splendid pub. Not busy in the early afternoon, with most customers outside smoking and loud horse racing on the TV.
Shepherd Neame - India Pale Ale | 4.50 | | A bit of an oddity, as this is neither an East Anglia IPA (as typified by Greene King IPA), nor is it a full-blown, strong, hoppy, throat-burner of an IPA. Amber coloured, lacking body, green apple tastes. |
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
Shepherd Neame - Kent's Best | 4.10 | Not Tried

12:30 visit. Came to sunny Herne Bay for the annual Bus running day which was very well attended. Not been back this way for some years and this pub stands out, architectually and interior wise, as one of finest examples of it's type that I've seen in Kent. A real "gem", certainly the best pub in the area.
Shepherd Neame - Spitfire (or Spitfire Amber Ale) | 4.20 | | In tip top condition here. |
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
Shepherd Neame - Kent's Best | 4.10 | Not Tried

After leaving the Ship Gareth and I came here, sat in a booth and talked a lot of tosh.
Shepherd Neame - Celebration Ale | 4.00 | | Nice and fruity with a hint of bubble gum |
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
Shepherd Neame - Spitfire (or Spitfire Amber Ale) | 4.20 | Not Tried

Guest beers are available at this Shepherd Neame pub at the moment, including Oakham JHB which was about ok. However the Bishops Finger was excellent,as Martyn from Herne agreed!!!Although not to my mind a £3.30 beer.
Oakham - JHB | 3.80 | | |
Shepherd Neame - Bishops Finger | 5.00
