26 Jul 2025 (Hogan Sampling)
1st visit of the Canterbury outing: Busy for early afternoon with 3 strong guests on. Opted for a not so strong regular to kick the start of the outing's proceedings off with and following a good basic breakfast in the high street with one other on the outing. Here we met up with a good few on the Bromley CAMRA outing.
Greene King - Ruddles Best (was 3.7%) | 3.40 | | Came with good head and lacing did this Bury St Edmunds' best bitter, and lasting throughout. A bitter hop-infused first bite aided by its array of hops used: Goldings, Challenger, Bramling Cross and Target. A mildly fruity bitterness rising up courtesy of its tropical, berry fruit and lemon citrus infusions. Its hoppiness dominated the ever so slightly malty aftertaste with hints of toffee and caramel derived from its crystal malt. |
