Earlyish evening. Walked here from the station and past 5 other pubs in the street, including the Faversham ‘spoons. It was noticeable that Furlongs was by far the most inviting and probably the busiest.
Burning Sky - Aurora | 5.60 | | Heavenly. |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Green Hop Ale (2022) | 4.80 | | Being lazy, the 2023 version, same strength, same quality. |
Kent - Session Pale | 3.70 | Not Tried
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - Green & Black | 4.20 | Not Tried | 4.0 version |

Early evening. Very busy - good to see. I noticed the landlord disappear downstairs - this micro has a proper cellar!
Goacher's - Fine Light Ale | 3.70 | | Had the edge on the Kent ales for condition and freshness. |
Kent - Green Giant | 6.00 | | Yummy. |
Kent - Kohatu | 4.50 | | |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Black Pearl Oyster Stout | 6.20 | Not Tried

Early evening. Busy - had a good chat with some regulars including Tyler, brewer for Angels and Demons. The covered area to the rear was getting well used.
Kent - Prohibition | 4.80 | | Fresh on as the Citra ended. Top class. |
Angels & Demons (now uses McCanns branding not its own) - Goldilocks is Dead | 5.30 | | So good - even though the brewer confesses that they were now using hop pellets for this brew. |
Kent - Citra | 4.50 | | Near the end of the barrel - but very drinkable. |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Thoroughly Modern Mild | 6.00 | Not Tried

Pub 3. The bartender was informative in a machine-gun delivery sort of way. Bar area pretty full just after 1 pm but a larger covered garden area provided further space. 4 key keg ales on as well.
Pig & Porter - Whispering Grass | 5.50 | | Full bodied in great condition. |
Salopian - Oracle | 4.00 | Not Tried
Bristol Beer Factory - Milk Stout | 4.50 | Not Tried
Wiper and True - Bitter | 4.70 | Not Tried | Poured a half - but wouldn’t serve it, end of barrel. |

Lunchtime visit - nicely busy and much cosier than the Creeker’s. I was offered a seat next to a couple of locals and enjoyed some good banter with them. Four good value cask ales on (£3.70 to £4.10).
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Dark Conspiracy | 4.90 | | This may have rated a “good” score - but as a dark beer with a good ABV I was rather disappointed by the lack of flavour and body. Went down easily all the same. |
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale | 3.90 | Not Tried
Bristol Beer Factory - Delray Beach | 4.40 | Not Tried
Bristol Beer Factory - Trail Breaker | 5.00 | Not Tried

Garden was busy by 1pm so we sat inside which also became fully occupied by late afternoon. Potential customers queuing outside only to be told the pub was at full capacity in these Covid times. Amazingly the one member of staff on manages to greet and take details at the door, serve, do table service inside and out, clean and change casks all on her own and the service is excellent, other establishments take note!
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale | 3.90 | | Nice soft floral notes with hint of citrus |
Kent - Beyond the Pale | 5.40 | | Delicious dry strong pale of the finest order 👍 |
Burning Sky - Arise | 4.40 | Not Tried
Northdown - Papworth Victory Best Bitter | 4.20 | Not Tried
