Late-evening and the usual regulars are in.
| Tap East - Steeleworks | 3.90 | | A reliably excellent Black IPA – or should I now be calling this kind of beer a ‘Cascadian Dark’? |

| Oakham - Citra | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
| Tap East - London Extra | 5.30 | Not Tried | |

Mid to late evening and unexpectedly quiet for a Friday.

Busy but with the usual fast and efficient service from knowledgeable staff.
| Tap East - Smokestack Porter | 6.50 | | Delicious |
| Tap East - London Extra | 5.30 | | I noted this down as 5.5%, a rather chewy amber bitter. |

11 Jul 2017 (Stephen Harris)
Here for a big chunk of mid-evening. I actually left at one point, but returned when I realised just how torrential was the rain outside.
| Turning Point - Avalon | 3.80 | | Very pale and very juicy. |
| Tap East - Tonic Ale | 3.00 | | I usually love this beer, but today I found the hops (HBC 431 in the current version of this beer) just a little bit harsh. |
| Pig & Porter - Chinook Porter Love Medicine | 6.00 | | A fruity, black Porter on key-keg dispense. Good flavours but suffered a little from flat condition. |
| Tap East - London Extra | 5.30 | | A return for this beer after three years absence from the bar. An amber-coloured, heavily malty beer. This pint a little too cloudy for comfort. |
| Marble - Pint (was 3.9%) | 3.40 | Not Tried | |
| Tap East - Smokestack Porter | 6.50 | Not Tried | |
30 Jun 2017 (Stephen Harris)
Late until perilously close to closing time, following an evening at the V&A.
| Tap East - Steeleworks | 3.90 | | |
| Intrepid - Sunrise | 4.60 | | A golden, hoppy Wheat Beer. Rather good. |
| Redemption - Fellowship Porter | 5.10 | Not Tried | |

| Tap East - Smokestack Porter | 6.50 | Not Tried | |
| Pig & Porter - Red Spider Rye | 4.80 | Not Tried | |
22 Jun 2017 (ChrisE)
I introduced a friend from Yeovil to this place tonight, he was not previously aware of its existence and was very impressed. Time for a couple before catching our respective trains. There were three guest ales on in addition to the Tap East brews listed.
| Tap East - East End Mild | 3.50 | | |
| Tap East - Tonic Ale | 3.00 | Not Tried | |
| Tap East - Smokestack Porter | 6.50 | Not Tried | |
06 Jun 2017 (Stephen Harris)
It was pouring with rain when I arrived and busy in here yet by the time I left it was sunny and the crowds had moved to the outside tables.
| Durham - Citra Nova | 3.90 | | Good Citra flavours without being overblown. |
| Urban Huntsman (cuckoo) - Islander | 4.00 | | Hazy gold, with fruity hop flavours. |
| Tap East - East End Mild | 3.50 | Not Tried | |
| Tap East - Coffee in the Morning (has been 5.7% too) | 5.60 | Not Tried | |
| Tap East - A.P.A. (American Pale Ale) | 4.30 | Not Tried | |
21 May 2017 (Stephen Harris)
Back at base camp after a pleasant expedition to rural Essex.
| Oakham - Asylum | 4.50 | | A well-balanced, amber-coloured Bitter. |
| Tap East - Coffee in the Morning (has been 5.7% too) | 5.60 | | Only the second time I’ve drunk this regular house beer I think. Very heavily-flavoured with coffee. Has a dry, bitter roastiness but some sweeter flavours too. |
| Tap East - East End Mild | 3.50 | Not Tried | |
| Five Points - Railway Porter | 4.80 | Not Tried | |
| Wild Beer Co. - Bibble | 4.20 | Not Tried | Quickly ran out. |
| Tap East - Steeleworks | 3.90 | Not Tried | |
09 May 2017 (Stephen Harris)
Mid-evening visit, after work.
| Blackjack - Dead Man's Hand | 4.10 | | Pale gold and hoppy and dry. |
| Tap East - Steeleworks | 3.90 | | Described by the brewery as a Porter, this black beer is very well-hopped and tastes to me more like a low strength Black IPA. Perhaps it is in the mysterious, emerging style of Cascadian Dark? Whatever it is, it is very nice indeed. |
| Five Points - Brick Field Brown | 5.40 | | Sweeter than I have tasted this beer before, with caramel overtones. |
| Tap East - Tonic Ale | 3.00 | Not Tried | |
| Tap East - A.P.A. (American Pale Ale) | 4.30 | Not Tried | |
