Not many in which was a shame as I think it was staying open for the Scotland rugby match which was on the TV which it seemed had been installed for the occasion. There were four beers on but I can't remember the 4th.

Greene King - IPA (was 3.6%) | 3.40 | Not Tried

Having braved the nightmare that is driving around Canterbury on a Saturday lunchtime, I put the car to bed and headed to the pub. Quite a few people in, some of them eating. Warm friendly welcome as always.
Dark Star - Revelation | 5.70 | | Clear golden ale, with bubbly head. Excellent balance between hop bitterness and sweet malt. |
Greene King - IPA (was 3.6%) | 3.40 | Not Tried
Adnams - Southwold Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
Adnams - Ghost Ship | 4.50 | Not Tried | The pump clip had been turned around as the barrel had been disturbed, but it was available if you didn't mind the haze. |

Heard they were having a Thornbridge weekend so came to have a look. Nice friendly pub, good atmosphere.
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Jaipur | 5.90 | | Amazing taste and aroma, a little more rounded and smoother than the Kipling, stunning hops, grapefruit and peach. Can't believe it's 5.9%, well not till later.......... |
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Lord Marples | 4.00 | | Nice amber bitter, nice balance of malt and hops. |
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Kipling | 5.20 | | This is more like it, good hop and citrus aroma and taste. |
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Wild Swan (was 3.5%) | 3.40 | | Nice enough pint, very pale, not what I expected from thornbridge. |
Greene King - IPA (was 3.6%) | 3.40 | Not Tried

Friendly welcome, lots of locals in.
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Nice pint of Harvey's, perhaps lacking that yeasty edge as seems to be the norm these days. |
Greene King - IPA (was 3.6%) | 3.40 | Not Tried
Arkell's - Wiltshire Gold | 4.00 | Not Tried
Kent - Beyond the Pale | 5.40 | Not Tried
25 Aug 2012 (Alenomore)
18:00 visit. A real treat to finally visit the one pub that has eluded me on all my previous City visits. Not a disappointment either, very, very good and more so today with a beer festival in progress, with several ales (not noted) on the bar and plenty more down the garden on a stillage. Alas, a swift visit with only two sampled plus an oddity, a whisky called Adnams Spirit of Broadside? Very nice too.
Castle Rock - Preservation Fine Ale | 4.40 | | Top class. |
Westerham - Bohemian Rhapsody | 4.00 | | Vgc today. |
14 Aug 2012 (Eddie)
5pm visit: quite early evening
Moorhouse's - Premier Bitter (was 3.8%) | 3.70 | | Nice session bitter |
West Berkshire - Dr Hexter's Healer | 5.00 | | Strong flavoured ale with hints of orange zest |
04 Aug 2012 (Martin the Mildman)
Olympics on TV but otherwise quiet here.
Black Sheep - Best Bitter | 3.80 | | Went for this as no local beers available. Inoffensive bitter with good hop and malt balance. My score 15/20. |
