Not been here for ages. The inside has changed. It's got nice dark red walls with brick columns. The atmosphere was pleasant.

Few people sat around the bar, other than that it was quiet. I liked the atmosphere though, it was a proper pub atmosphere. I'll definitely be returning.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brains - Party Popper3.70AcceptableQuite thin and a little bit sour. Only just acceptable really. I wouldn't drink it again.

Here with Andrew on first pub of our Canterbury crawl. It's been down up since I was last here, but still more or less the same.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00GoodBit warm, bit malty, some Harvey's yeast, some hop sting on end.

As we walked up to the pub Ian pointed out that it didn't look very open. The New Inn never looks very open. It was, in fact, open. There were a couple of folk sitting at the bar but that was about it. We got our pints and sat in the corner. Nice pub.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00GoodMore malt than usual but the usual hoppy, yeasty Harvey’s flavour as usual.
Greene King - IPA (was 3.6%)3.40Not Tried

New owners since the last visit here some time ago. Opening hours are 11 - 3 and then 7 to about 11.30, open all day on Saturday, but not at all on Mondays in August due to the continuing refurb.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Robinsons - Olympic Gold4.00AcceptableMid red colour with disappearing head. Heavy fruit malt aroma. A bit thin in the mouth with soap suds and a little bitterness. OK, but I wouldn't have had another.
Wadworth - Henry's Original IPA3.60Not Tried
Sharp's - Doom Bar4.00Not Tried

Apparently the New Inn changed hands about 4 weeks a go. Areas of the inside look like they are still being decorated but in general it's seems to be up and running much as before. The inside has been cleaned up but has much the same relaxed feel as it always did. Yeah, it's still a nice pub.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Stonehenge - Pigswill4.00PoorIs this supposed to taste of green apples? There was a hint of caramel-malt under the apples but mainly it was green apples. Light caramel-brown in colour. I didn't like this much.
Greene King - IPA (was 3.6%)3.40Not Tried
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00Not TriedAdrian's tasted good

Jane was shopping in Canterbury so I had half an hour to kill. The pub was all but empty when I visited which gave it a lovely relaxed feel with the sunlight streaming in the windows. This is a very pleasant pub to drink in.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00ExcellentWonderful beer. Good Harvery's yeast with a fruity malt base with hints of fresh mango.

Was walking past and thought what the hell. Lovely and quiet inside and I had a view along the length of the pub into the garden at the rear.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Burton Bridge - Thrales Ale4.50AcceptableOrange golden in colour. Rich syrupy viscous mouth feel. Earthy and spicy beer with short lived finish. I think it was bottom of the barrel judging by the sediment in it so if I'd have got it a day or 2 earlier I could imagine it being quite nice.
